The bids were made before the PL began, wonder if we will come back with a second bid. Aren't you Evertonians worried the words 'not for sale' are absent from the statement?
You already have mate. We've unsettled Fellaini and Baines and they'll both probably put transfer requests in and we'll end up getting both for around £35-40 million.
It's just how every club operates and you guys will use that money to buy James McCarthy
What's with the arrogance?
Derisory and insulting seem to be the way United do their transfer negotiations ..
Talk about starting off on the wrong foot.
I wonder how many transfers we have messed up over the years by insulting the seller.
I am happy with the strong nature of this statement and that we will not be pressured or bullied by United.

Stop being a drama queen.
You are neither being bullied or pressured.
It is called the transfer window for a reason.
Not arrogant, just better
Fair statement from Everton. Our clown of a CEO will probably bid 27m in return.
Definitely not arrogant, definitely just better
The bids were made on Friday.
I read it was made last week so presumed Mondsy?
As Robb put, I can only assume these bids were designed to unsettle the players in the hope of getting their value down by kicking up a fuss. It is a balancing act though as antagonising Everton will do no good either. I'm struggling with it to be honest, I can't work out why it is this late on.
This close to the end of the transfer window , you have to assume if Everton were to sell, the negotiations would have to be speedy or they won't have time to get any replacements in.
Baines won't force a move, fellaini probably will. Though it will cost the buy out clause to get him.
Absolutely arrogant, admittedly better
The fact no one activated his buy out clause shows 23m is a value no one wants him for.
The buy out clause has expired on Fellani hasn't it
Apparently it was 28m ? "derisory and insulting". How much do they actually want? what was Fellainis release clause 24m ? 15 for baines 20 for fellaini ? 7m off not exactly insulting for a starting bid? wack 7m in clauses or something.
Are they expecting 50m for the pair?
We started a lot earlier than this with Baines.
And Fellaini was probably 2nd to 3rd choice. Fabregas not happening so onto Fellaini
Fellaini's clause expired 31st July according to Martinez
what was the highest rejected bid for baines 12m ?
I reckon 35m for the pair should do it, if not Everton are wanting to keep at all costs I don't think utd will go past 35m for the pair myself.
It's going to be about 40 million to get them, in my opinion, Everton would be better selling them then buying replacements quickly.
Baines was 12m and Fellaini 16m
