Hafeez "retired-hurt" Yeahhh right...... Protecting his series average more like. What a wimp. Needs to grow a pair
i think some people bash misbah just for the sake of it, do people have an idea how you build a odi innings or would they rather see 11 afridis coming in swinging from the start and have 1 in every 15 innings come off.
The other day misbah made 80 odd of 85 balls didnt see poeple moaning then. The guy has so much pressure on him because you have clowns who just cannot bat around him and he knows that if hes gone early most of the time no one is capable of stepping up
united kaz,
It was absolutely no coincidence whatsoever on thursday that when misbah got out early pakistan scored there highest total in 12 months in an odi (299). The guy takes upo way too many balls and he is utterly and soley responsbile for creating the pressure.
what excuses does he have for todays performance as an example? explain to me why his run rate is at 39% vs zimbabwe when we are just two down and now in the 40th over??
The sooner this out-dated and 1950's type of player leaves the odi scene the better we'll be.
with misbah taking up so many balls, he also creates pressure on the middle order. umar amin was playing a fine knock in the last game with plenty of overs..... hes just got out now trying to hoof one to get the run rate going..................misbah really is clueless beyond beleif.
they only reason we got 299 is hafeez feasted on rubbish bowling, the sooner the board admit that pakistans batsmen are completley $h!t the sooner we can move on.
At the moment pakistan cricket is in abit of a rut and its because were not producing any decent batsmen either in the middle or top of the order and that in turn is wasting the best years of some decent bowlers that we have. Lso how can misbah be blamed for the contineuos failures of our top 3 when he doesnt come in until 2 wickets have fallen
Agree about top 3 batsmen.......... but despite that there is no reason why misbah cant score singles and doubles and move the innings along. His slowness puts pressure on the likes of the lower middle order.... so today afridi is out for a low score and it probably means we dont cross 250/260. you cannot rely on players to come in and score at a strike rate of 150% + every game

-----------------
is was going well untill you gave afridi as an example, the guy will play his shots weather his partner has a strike rate of 10 or 200, i agree misbah should try to be a little more aggresive at the start but take today for example, ii he's gone for under 10 we wouldnt have got over 200 imo
Misbah Ul haq is the Best among the ODI batsmen not to have ever scored a Ton.

-------------------
you have 2 different camps on this
-hes always played for his average thats why he bats slow and sacrifices tons
or
-hes more about the team so his slow play ensures he's there anchoring the innings sacrifing the tons
I remember Another world class test batsman who never scored an ODI ton.
He is from england.
Guess who?
i cheated, greame thorpe?
This is a fact:
Misbah gets out cheap and we score 300
Misbah sticks around and we labour to average scores.
We have our work cut out defending this.
It was Michael Vaughn on my mind.
Looks like we have been spared the humiliation.
Two back to back victories against Zimbabwe. Pakistan team on a dream run!!
Yet another addition to Kash's glorious record of match winning threads!
kash will be hailing in glory now that hes got a match winning thread at last..... bet he's going to go out to bradford with his boys!!!!..... whats the plan kash - Leeds Rd fishieries?
Wimslow road
I only took this match thread on because nobody else would volunteer.
What I can say is that I've never lost a bilateral series
Pakistan lineup has got no player to look forward to. Most batsmen are tried and failed and come back, no young player with potential.
This test is perhaps watchable during 2nd inning if Zim make a contest of it.
Boring.
boring?
zimbabwe are well and truley in it - taken 3 wickets already. AGreed about paks bring back failures time and time again though. some of these guys really are brainless.
Where is amir? He's been going on about kurram whatever not being selected and raving about him? Well???............
Perhaps we're just too harsh on the PCB because quite frankly there is deck all available to them on terms of quality, so bring back the same old faces?
It will be really interesting game if Pakistan roll out under 150.
Zimbabwe got a good start, but can they persevere?
Also got a feeling that , despite all zimbabwe's troubles, cricket might actually be growing in the country, esp many black players with great potential are emerging.
A strong zimbabwe side will help grow the sport in Africa.
