Ajjy out now.... Will younis open up?

posted on 6/9/13

He certainly needs to open up because Junaid and Rahat can't bat.

Zim batsmen hopefully learn a lot by watching Khan here.

Paks should declare now

Youni khan great double.

Lets hope personal glory does not cost us with a victory.

Kash, can't really blame younis for that. Misbah should have declared an hour ago. Then gives younis one over to score 7 runs for his double century

was a bit comical but we may still regret not declaring early. Needed to get the spinner on in the evening but 7 overs is easy to survive.

Junaids started well

Should see this wrapped over with another couple of wickets. Still doesn't justify misbahs late decision to declare though

Credit to the legend Younis Khan for this victory!

The best batsman Pakistan produced in decades!

Yes, younis khan is most dependable batsman for Pak besides MO YOUSUF in recent years.
Still remember Indias tour of Pakistan in 2006 When he plundered India.
That was one of the first test matches i had watched on TV.

Agreed without the class of younis, we may have been defeated. Still lots of improvements required, ESP the top 3.

seriously, we have just one wicket to take in 2+ sessions, surely it justifies the decision to declare when we did, you cant please some people even when winning,

can we please criticise the useless openers who put the middle order under immense pressure again during both innings

United kaz,

The thing is someone out there needs to tell Hafeez he is not worth opening the innings for Pakistan in any format. And what I feel is Hafeez has become a kind of a figure whom even the captain cannot dictate. He has done enough damage to the team by opening the innings and losing his wicket early. It gives the opponent team a lot of confidence when the team gets 10 or 15 for 1 and Pakistan comes in pressure as a result. He just secures this position by scoring a century against a weak opponent and when it comes to quality bowlingHaven't seen Khurram bat though but still I would say if he has been brought in, lets spend some time on him and then decide if he has potential to learn.

Good win Nice to see our bowlers back inform. Openers are still the main weak point in our team. Also nice to see Younis step up instead of relying on Misbah every match.

Misbah's decision to declare a few overs later then expected paid off No need to criticise him when we have won this test comfortably with 2 sessions to spare.

Delighted with victory. But come on guys, this is Zimbabwe we were playing. 250 lead going into last hour of 4th day was the time to declare? I say that because;

Would have shown positivity
Attacking mindset
Time for bowlers, because I gurantee you Saffers England Aussies wouldn't have left it so late.

Also, by delaying it till he did, isn't misbah adding pressure on Rehman and ESP ajjy?

But agree our top 3 need a good kick up the backside and I expect them to come to the party Tuesday
