Last season at this time all of Lukaku's game time was from off the bench. As he adjusted and got better he played more and more until he was eventually starting.

Exactly the same situation at Chelsea.

3 games into the season and players are already being "wasted" and "not being given enough opportunities"

When Torres is getting ahead of a young, in form striker who scored 17 goals on loan for West Brom last season, then I consider that wasting.

His chances of getting into the first 11 for the rest of the season are going to decrease if Chelsea sign a striker that they are so desperate for.

And if Schurrle, not a striker, starts ahead of you, then you're being wasted as well.

Lukaku will likely come on later. I think Jose prefers to use him as a sub for now. Schurrle starting is more of an indictment on Torres and Ba, two experienced PL CFs (that should be) in their prime.
