Do I normally do a late one then????

It's been very negative on here today. Some people forget we have won our first three games, and have Sturridge in amazing form. Let's not forget Luis Suarez is still to return!

Remind us how good we have actually been since January last season Got_Better?

I'm sorry GB. You're probably a decent lad. But you're unwarranted constant optimism is beyond a joke and gives us a bad reputation on here. We all seem to be tarred with your brush and seem to be a laughing stock because of it.

To be honest, Got_Better is no way as bad as some people on here today. The negative stance against the owners is ridiculous. Man United, Arsenal and Everton haven't spent anything. City and Chelsea are sugar daddies. Tottenham will have spent less than us.

GB, f' em, keep up the enthusiasm, miserable s need some cheering up

It's like they don't get it, you've taken all the negative on board, you've accepted it and decided to focus on the positives

Chill Knotty, opposition fans go way over the top when talking about G_B, what's wrong with a fan taking all the positives rather than the negatives (Like most people seem to be doin on our board today) from our situation?

posted on 28/8/13

I'm ambivalent towards the owners but I'm realistic enough to know we won't get top four.

The Liverpool board is better with G_B, than it would be without

Agreed but as a team / squad they would have improved greatly.

GB is like the over happy career of the elderly. All the old people are miserable because their wetting themselves, and all they can talk about is the good old days (when we had Kenny/Rafa). Without him, whose gonna clean the place up, and make everyone smile?

Still to be determined, but I am nudging towards them being better. However, it's not the owner's/club's fault that Spurs have money to spent.

Well of course not How can you blame our owners for another clubs ambition ?

West Ham have spent over £40m in the last 3 transfer windows.

At lease they are trying.

In the last two and a half years the current owners have spend £70m net!

So we shouldn't compare ourselves to Tottenham's spending, but West Ham. You confuse me Red 5.

They know where they are and they know what they need to do to maintain their position and or improve.

Liverpool should not be compared to West Ham ever, yet they are unlike us at the moment - showing ambition.

Showing ambition?

So targeting the same players as Dortmund, Chelsea, Tottenham and At.Madrid isn't ambition?

To be honest, we have overspend and gone wrong (Carroll and Downing), but when we look at top teams castaways (Sturridge and Coutinho) we seem to do well.

£70m spent in the last two years, and trying to spend another £25m this window in net says 'ambition' to me!

See the problem is we signed players too early, if we had signed:

Aspas
Mignolet
Toure
Alberto

3 days ago everyone would be happy enough.

And out of that £70m net spend how many are top, top class players ?

The type that would walk into a City, Chelsea or Utd side ?

posted on 28/8/13

the cheque book has been out and wide open. 3 players we went for in the £25-30mil range and they all went to CL clubs instead

we're just not a club worth joining for top players

FSG
SOS out

Whose fault was it that the club can't aim for Champions League quality players? The previous owners.

Whose fault was it that the club bought poor players like Carroll, Downing and others? The previous manager.

The manager picks the players, and the owner provides the funs. FSG are not to blame here!

I like funs
