I don't like either parties, but you can't pin this on the Conservatives. Labours done a whole heap of damage too
"Front window of the Bang & Olufsen store, off King Street, smashed in. One pair carried out a widescreen TV. Five minutes later, several hundred youths marched down Princess Street towards John Dalton Street"

Wow its just all starting again.
"It never does. As with the 1980 riots, it's happening a year after they've left power having destroyed the economy. They have a knack for it."
This.
If Labour hadn't become so complacent and self-serving then we wouldn't be in the situation that we are now... and they'd probably still be in power.
Anyways guys, wherever you are in this crazy little world... take it easy and stay safe.
it's sad to see so many hate filled people they must come down hard on anybody they arrest but the only way you can find a solution is to understand why so many people become to be so angry. because the looters are a product of a society that other people created. you can blame the youth for the crimes but not for society.
And do some serious "kettling" too.
They can go home once they have soiled their pants.

Agreed, and if they were still in power we probably wouldn't have this riot, as they'd have just borrowed another few hundred billion of debt to give handouts leading to even bigger trouble in the future
Take care yourself
It's worrying as I've "understood" all the riots before. Not agreed but understood why. This is just stupidness, and I feel it may be frustrations towards less money, fewer community places to visit.
It's shocking too see, but people who are just saying call the army in on them is stupid. Using extreme violence against people who already hate these authority figures, is not going to help anything.
Hope there are no riots when football matches start. Could see that being an opportunity to
Sky News says that there are 50-70 men out on the streets of Enfield saying they will defend the area from looters.

I've just been playing footy in Enfield about an hour ago. Saw them coming across the park. Left immediately with my mates as I thought they were rioters at the time
Thudd I saw that photo last night. Fair play to the Millwall fans. If I was a big burly bloke I'd have been up in Camden Town protecting it from rioters on Monday night. Unfortunately I'm only a 5'4, 8 stone girl and wouldn't have stood much chance!
Hope everyone's been staying safe. I agree with the OP. Times like this we should put our football rivalries behind us and stand up to these mindless thugs.
Group hug!!
