Exactly how I feel RR. It's a shame but something we'll have to get used to.
RR
Agreed apart from the fact I would have been happy to get rid of Rooney if we could have brought in a replacement of the quality of Mata or Ozil. Selling Rooney to Chelsea might not have been ideal in the short term but in the long run of our club we need to think about how we want to progress on the pitch, right now there still seems a lot of uncertainly of how we want to play and who plays where.
It was just the way Ferdinand spoke about his injury before the game, sounded like something was up. You haven't heard anything have you macca?

The usual Phil Jones took him out rubbish
I'm sure david Moyes wouldn't reward Phil Jones with a starting spot at Anfield for taking Rooney out for 3 weeks deliberately.
Tell you what I did find out at the weekend though
I'm now 99% sure that Roo didn't ask to leave United
"I'm now 99% sure that Roo didn't ask to leave United "
Based on what?
We've been saying that all along Macca! Was it more a ferguson allowing his emotions to rule his head moment...?
Macca I have never thought he did, a father of one of Utd's scouts told me when Fergie announced it TV that it was pash, he did have a wee whinge on certain issues, not one to give the large one, that is only what I heard, no reason to doubt it.
Just find me-Ditto
Manutd 92, Rooney is many things but a shirker is not one of them, he is still here and will give his all in every game from here on in

Why didn't he give his all in every game last season?
Insufferable-piffle
What like he did last season?
Jesus the blind faith people have for Rooney is unbelievable. So Ferguson lied and Rooney just decided to never publicly deny he ever said it?
What does a scout's father know about a private meeting between Rooney and Ferguson?
As soon as you said that Macca, I knew this would go straight into a Rooney argument again!

Of course it would Melton!
Macca acts like Rooney's BF all summer and comes out with a comment without even bothering to divulge. Any negative rumour associated to Rooney and Macca will instantly claim it's BS, yet any positive rumour concerning Rooney is automatically completely true. Macca's d !k sucking of Rooney this summer has been ridiculous.
Always said the same Macca, I've never believed it. If only you could pm on this site, i'm intrigued
Macca
Could you at least explain why you are 99% sure Rooney never asked to leave?
manutd,
I completely get either side of the argument, for those that have blind faith in rooney, I would say there are some that have had blind faith in ferguson too. The lack of any meaningful response since that Ferguson interview has dragged it on so much, all anyone can do is speculate for me.
I still firmly maintain I don't see how it was in Moyes best interests for everyone directly to keep schtum about it after Ferguson said what he did though, that is why you have a division in your fanbase about it.
Manutd1982, way more that you or I would know, are you really that naive to believe that jibber jabber doesn't spread round Carrington?

It's not blind faith concerning Ferguson, like any human being he has made many mistakes and in fairness didn't deal with the Rooney problem well.
But when you actually weigh up the 2 men and how they act I find it crazy that people will believe Rooney who has never once come out to say one way or the other what happened yet Ferguson has. If Macca thinks he has evidence proving he never asked to leave I would love to hear it as as far as I'm aware the meeting would have been a private one between the 2 men meaning the only people who know are Ferguson and Rooney.
The fact Macca so far does not wish to explain what he said makes me believe he's licking Rooney's a$$ as usual.

Even that depends on your outlook though. That to me is one of the reasons why I didn't believe it, Stretford and Rooney not saying anything is completely different to 2010.
As I said though, both sides of the argument have merit considering there really isn't much to go off.

This is just an assumption but I think Rooney and Stretford learnt from the 2010 incident and all the bad feeling that came their way (hooded youths outside Rooney's house) and decided to say nothing and burn any bridges.
I have no doubt that Rooney wanted (or wants) to leave but the club were 100% solid in their stance that he wouldn't be allowed to leave hence why Rooney said nothing.
Perhaps his refusal to say nothing positive regarding him wanting to stay is his message to the outside world that he's not happy but without the definitive words that would confirm it and bring bad feeling to a guy who is stuck there for the time being.
It isn't the first time Rooney has had a horrific gash on his face. They are normally 65 years old though...

Yeah, made me feel slightly sick too!
I get your point, I'm not sure the full truth will come out unless Rooney ever leaves United to be honest.
SAF lie??
He never did it the rest of the time he was our manager did he?
Rooney asks to leave - false and press garbage, even though Fergie made this clear and it has not been denied.
Rooney never asks to leave - no evidence presented whatsoever, but it is true.
I swear you guys are Rooney fans before Utd fans.
Shame because you are decent posters and are loyal to a prck who doesn't give two fecks about you or the club you support
