Don't care about the circumstances, the fact we are signing somebody as good as ozil is all that matters, I think we will sign 2 top attacking players not just one
2 top attacking players are the bottom of our priorities imo.
It is great to have Ozil (if we do), but let's see how we play against better teams like Chelsea and City and Dortmund etc.
We need more players

Are you serious lol, world-class attacking players are going to win you trophies, we already looks solid at the back and have a good midfield
hahaha these idiots like the OP have been criticising wenger all summer for not wanting to spend large amounts on quality player. Now that he is , they are still moaning about it! Couldnt make this up!
Bet it would make the OP's day if the Ozil deal fell through.
Definitely Ronnie.
Chelsea have been blessed with an abundance of top class attacking midfielders over the past few seasons... they've still been a long way of the league title, but have performed tremendously well in Europe due to some very resolute defensive performances.
Bet it would make the OP's day if the Ozil deal fell through.

Do you think if we had Laudrup in charge we would have signed Ozil? Absolute melt
Haha, can't post something without dropping an insult. Insecure.

HMNIV, I appreciate where you're coming from. You look at United with Van Persie last year, he was the difference between them winning back the title or not.
However, I don't see us as being in a similar position. I don't feel we are solid defensively or in midfield, it's easy to say after a decent run of results... whether we will still look solid come December is another story.
Real fans are crying because Ozil is leaving. Man U fans are crying because they're not signing him.
Sounds like a good bit of business to me
@YearofOx
Nobody said having Ozil is bad... he is a WC player... but we all know how thin our squad is. Starting 11 is great, but then? We have 38 league games, minimum 6 CL games, and 2 other domestic cup games... do you feel JUST having Ozil is enough?
Wenger is doing a good job to land Ozil, but that is not enough. Landing Ozil is just enough to secure a top 4 for us, and you sound like top 4 is enough for you.

Is that how highly you value our club? Can we not attract the elite managers?

Im ready for them Why are they always so aggressive?
Because then you'd be on here say
"told you so!!!, You all laughed at me, but i was right all along, wenger is a fool will never spend, wenger out!! we'll struggle to finish 8th now, wenger out!!"
Try supporting, not trying to prove your right.
you'd be happier then, than if we won the league!
You might not be the worse for this. But we do have fans like this, and it really isnt helpful for supporting the team

Brilliant comment.
As great a signing as Ozil is, I expected more on other fronts. We have £180M on the bank and only decided to take a chunk of that out for 1 player.
We need a DM, Flamini looked good vs Spurs and could prove to be very good but he is 29 and not a long term solution.
We need a GK, Szczesney could fulfill the promise shown in his earlier years but sticking with him as number 1 could be a gamble. Viviano is just the cheap option.
We need another forward, whether it be a winger or a striker. Demba Ba is uninspiring, he is not much better than Giroud, if at all. He is also very similar to him, I would have hoped for a Di Maria / Lamela / Draxler to play out wide giving Podolski and Walcott more opportunities to compete for the striker spot with Giroud, or in hindsight we should simply have taken Higuain when we had the chance.
Even with Ozil, I can't see us competing unless we have no more injuries for the rest of the season. Our squad is tiny.
However, I don't see us as being in a similar position. I don't feel we are solid defensively or in midfield, it's easy to say after a decent run of results... whether we will still look solid come December is another story.

That is the key consistency, having a solid defence is one thing but the need for world-class forwards to make the difference in tight games is just as important
I am filtering these idiots one at a time. I am simply tired of them.
