Ozil: 52 games, 10 goals, 19 assists
Mata: 64 games, 20 goals, 35 assists.

Mata in a harder league, surrounded by worse players, too.

Ozil has also been feeding the likes of Ronaldo , Higuain and Benzema for the last couple of seasons whereas Mata has been feeding the likes of Torres and Demba Ba yet Mata has still scored more goals and assists, in a league where it's not so open and attack minded and he has been playing for a 6th placed team and a 3rd placed team.

Ozil is fantastic though and one of my fav players and will do very well especially in a team like Arsenal, just at the moment i'd have Mata all day n night, see how Ozil gets on in the PL and they compare at the end of the season

I'd say Chelsea have the better midfield only wilshere and maybe Walcott from the bench would make the Chelsea team, as good as ozil is mata is there better player and probably hazard if he actually played at a good tempo for 90 minutes. Jack Wilshire would make us a much more complete side.

To be honest, pretty even, although naturally I'm inclined towards Arsenal's.
I haven't seen enough of Schurrle yet, he's looked average so far.

Ozil = Mata
Hazard = Cazorla
Wilshere >= Oscar
Walcott >> Schurrle
Ramires ?? Ramsey (so far this season, Ramsey, but up to now comfortably Ramires!)

Chelsea's midfield to supply the attacking 3 and Arsenal's for the defensive 2.

Now that would be some midfield

Well as Mata is the best player in that list it is illogical for him not to win the head to heads

Heard somewhere the other day that Jose apparantly come out saying Ozil's the best no 10 in the world? Compared to Mata can't seem to get in the squad nowdays..hmm

Pity Mata will be sitting on the bench this season! Mourinho

It's a bit unfair to compare Wilshere to Oscar, since they basically play in different positions - Wilshere is a lot deeper, probably closer to where Lampard plays (and no, I'm not going to say that Wilshere is better than Lampard...yet)

Imo and trying to completely unbiased, although very diddfcult

Ozil = Mata

Cazorla > Hazard

Oscar > Wilshere (im a big fan of Oscar, he's just incredible)

Walcott >> Schurrle (no argument)

Ramires > Ramsey (But this season Ramsey has been better, but season is only 3 games old, so would be ridiculous to say Ramsey's better)

Let's not be silly now. We've got a World Class player, but Chelsea's midfield is by far superior. I'd say even City's midfield trumps us.

at the moment chelseas, if ours gels well and ramsey and wilshere keep improving then it will be a lot closer

So what are we comparing, attacking midfielders or deep midfielders?

Our deep midfielders: Mikel, Ramires, Lampard, MvG and Essien.
Arsenal: Diaby, Arteta, Ramsey, Wilshere, Flamini.

Mikel < Arteta (I like both players though)
MVG ? Diaby
Essien = Flamini
Lampard = Wilshere
Ramires > Ramsey (Ramsey improving though)

So quite even IMO.

Attacking mids/wingers for Chelsea: Mata, Oscar, Hazard, Schurrle, KDB, Willian
Arsenal: Walcott, Pod, Ozil, Cazorla, Rosicky, AOC

Mata = Ozil
Hazard = Cazorla
Schurrle = Podolski
Willian = Walcott
Oscar > Rosicky
KDB > AOC

We win

Schurrle more comparable with Podolski than Walcott.
