Because it changed the game, and gave utd an unfair advantage over the the other team.
It appears it was outside the box, and young had already been book for diving moments before, so it gave you a goal lead and and a player advantage, against a promoted team.
Utd played poorly in the first half and diving all over the pitch pathetic,if hats how you wan to win games fine, me on the other hand, I'm happy we could go back to the top of the table not having had 1 player booked for diving so far, shows the 2 clubs ave very different standards....
No class.

It seems you are confused. Referee rightly booked young for the dive. The penalty was a different decision, which may have been borderline in terms of being on the edge of the box (even in replays it is not clear) but the red was correct according to the rules. SO no unfair advantage was gained. The penalty for a dive is a yellow which was correctly applied by the ref as well.
Because it changed the game, and gave utd an unfair advantage over the the other team.
---
You're clearly talking about the 'penalty' appeal, that wasn't a dive. Young's dive didn't change the game at all. Young's dive was the one he was booked for.
You can't blame Young for the referee giving the penalty.
Unless of course you're a scouser and you think Young dived for the penality.
you wont find a single United fan defending Ashley Young, all clubs have their divers.
How does Young being booked for diving change the game
Firstly, united didn't play poorly specsavers mate! Secondly, young was rightly booked and thirdly it wasn't a pen because its outside the box but it was a clear foul! Sending off very harsh but that's the rubbish rules, so what is your pointless point?? And Stevie me and rat boy??? Now that's no class!
and for a Liverpool fan to say United have no class is a joke. Any class Liverpool ever had was disposed of by Dalglish and Suarez
No sorry he did take another dive, it was outside the box, an young ran across him.
It makes me laugh, last year utd were going crazy coz Nani got sent off, and you were robbed of a chance to go further in the CL, yet when it's utd as usual getting dodgy decisions that's fine!
I would be surprised if Fergie was texting the ref half way through, anyway well done 3 points well played

That's the thing, we'll admit young dives and deserved his punishment this weekend, then we have a scouser coming on here trying to take the moral high ground after how they've dealt with Suarez?
Give us a break.
I think its just some Liverpool fan who obviously hasn't even seen the highlights but read in the media bout young diving and united winning a penalty and a defender seeing red. Obviously with his intelligence he was able to add 2 and 2 together to make 15.
Games, I watch it live mate, up until the penalty they had contained you well, if hats utd playing well then I have no worries about your lot this season.
No sorry he did take another dive, it was outside the box, an young ran across him.

Comments like this make me wonder whether you actually watched the game, or whether you just talk out of your árse.
It's ingrained in Young's mind now to try and win penalties. If you watch the penalty decision from behind the goal, Young totally changes the direction he runs in to ensure the Palace player collides with him. If he had run towards the ball, no contact would have been made. He's a cheat, and he thankfully has a reputation now that he can not complain with.

Don't say that they say you haven't watched the game, he did play for it, he should hav got a second yellow for diving, but we didn't see hat.
We saw poor young running through on goal then was shot from the stand by a sniper

When have Liverpool been worried about united apart form one season in last 20? You need to be worried about teams you are going to be competing with e.g. Swansea away today.
I would like to give Moyes credit for the way he publicly condemned his player for diving.
That is what you call a real manager.
I also remember he did the same after Fellaini butted Shawcross last season. You dont get none of this "I didnt see it" rubbish from him.
Well done Moyes....

Problem is we all are, if the media say something positive about our club / players etc. we are all quick to agree, post the link, use it as proof in a debate etc.
It's only when we don't agree with what is being said do any of us seem to have an issue.
Look at it like this sports media in particular is a larger industry then ever and it's only growing, there's a reason for that and it's because, you, me and almost everybody reads the prited press on a daily basis either online or in the actual paper

All people have to do is watch the replay from behind the goal. If he runs forwards he scores probably. But his first thought is to run across the defender, giving him no chance of getting out the way. I despise Young as a player, horrible player.

Whilst you're at it, what are your opinions on Gerrard and Suarez' history of diving?
Young has the misfortune of playing for Manchester United, a club the media love to criticise. And what about Gerrard's diving? I am sure the doting journalists find it "cute".
