Neil Aspin got a phone call from the Fire brigade last week

Fire Chief to Neil...
"Mate, Get darn here quick,,,, the Shay is on fire"

Neil goes into 'salvage' mode !!!
"At all costs..Save the Cups, They must have priority"

The fireman is calm.... "You're alright Neil, The fire hasn't spread to the canteen yet "

I didn't realise it was 5/5 for FCHT at the Shay. With that in mind, got to go for a 3-1 home win.

Previous "not so recent" meetings:

Last 6 matches
Hereford United 1 0 Halifax 11/02/2006
Halifax 2 1 Hereford United 24/09/2005
Halifax 0 1 Hereford United 16/04/2005
Hereford United 2 3 Halifax 04/09/2004
Halifax 1 2 Hereford United 03/04/2004
Hereford United 7 1 Halifax 25/11/2003

I remember when Halifax got relegated to the conference in the early 90s it was sealed with a 1-0 home defeat to Hereford. That was a sad day but to juxtapose it, it also heralded the beginning of the greatest Halifax Town side I and possibly anyone else ever had the pleasure of watching. That promotion team with Paterson, Horsfield and even a veteran Brian Kilkline played some simply incredible football at times.

Well it would seem that there are 4 of us now
So does that mean we are a bit like 'The 3 Musketeer's'

Just to set out a basic, & hopefully helpfull format,
I'm quite happy to knock out match threads...& go from there & see how it takes off, But if there is a particular game or cup tie that any of you would like to do....terrific, more the merrier eh

I have a few idea's that we could maybe incorporate as time goes by, & I'll run by you as we get to know each other better,
Champers & I may have a bit of an advantage in that regard, But I assume Ken & FC are mates too, is that right ?
SO far, So good.

Tonight/this aft...
Not such a good record against this lot over time is it Ken ! But I think The Shaymen's present form will have us all well chuffed after today's result,
I can't see any other result than a clear TOWN win.

What is the likely weather forecast during the game ?

I checked before the Barnet match a couple of weeks ago, and it made even worse reading for the Shaymen, with 5 straight previous defeats, and a 0-0 draw before that. The result a comfortable 3 points for Halifax.

Oh and the weather forecast is sunny intervals and a pleasant 16°C according to the BBC!

That's good , A cracking day for football....you'll be at Elland rd eh Ken, that's a 'toughie' against Burnley, who have started well.
Lets hope 'FC' comes good & gives us a run darn from the Shay

I only just read this morning about that proposed take over or possible sale of the 11 acre site...
I'm not too sure what's best in this situation, trying to keep an open mind..But the bit that comes across as 'suspicious' is that The fella wanting to broker the deal only has 31,000 qiud in assets

plus. That 'biz' about selling it for 1.9 million (after spending over 5 mill) seems a bit underhand to me...
It's a tricky one.

yeah looking forward to it today, good record against burnley, but as mentioned a good start to the season despite selling austin.

Huddersfield playing the better half of the lancashire rivals, who have won their previous 2 home games albeit against struggling opposition.

I'd be grateful of any score updates from the shay if anyone is around, as only get down results of games down to league 2.
