Soldado needs a goal that's all. What is more promising for me is the understanding between him, Eriksen and Siggy which has already led to two goals this season.
Much as I love Defoe he is far less likely to play for the team. That, and the fact he always starts the season well but can't seem to sustain it.
And he's taken his goals really well, not like the old Defoe of smashing it, all been placed and composed

lads its not drop Soldado for good and play Defoe all season ffs Its the start of the season now, if hes on form now why not give him a couple of games? Soldado got an assist the other day was it team play? It was in its fack, it bounced off him when he tried to control it for himself

Soldado could easily play Thursday and Sunday if he wanted, they train every day, give him a week of two games, then Defoe off the bench, rotate your two strikers
"Give Soldado Thursday. He SHOULD score easily v weaker opposition.
Give Defoe the West Ham game. If he doesn't score then we've lost nothing, as Soldado isn't scoring either."
That kills N birds with one stone.
A win at Anzhi provides a big gap in the Europa table anyway, and gives Soldado a chance to get going again.
The s are exactly the type of team that Defoe normally bullies, so we'll see how he plays in front of the current MF lineup.
"If only AVB could motivate Ade to be the player we know he is capable of being"
Perhaps a couple of thursdays in autumn in the middle of Europa nowhere will provide the motivation.
It was in its fack, it bounced off him when he tried to control it for himself
You might want to have another look at the goal Messiah, it wasn't his best touch but it was a lay off for Siggy.
Soldado needs time to adjust, the only way he will get that is with game time. Dropping him now won't do him any good at all, and to be honest smells more like a knee jerk reaction to Defoe scoring against poor opposition

Honest to god I've looked at it over and over he tried to chase it down!!!

No, not a knee-kerk. He hasn't scored from open play in 6 games now, and hasn't offered enough all-round to be certain of his place - the team scoring just 4 open-play goals in 6 games.
Nobody is sayying sell him . Just that if you aint doing your job, somebody else should be given a chance in the meantime until you find your form again. Europa duty

Did I even mention selling him
Dropping him isn't the solution, neither is just giving him Europa games...he's already proved he can score in those
How many PL games from now can Soldado go without scoring before Defoe etc gets a start ??
So with Spurs needing a GD > +30 to get 76 PL pts, give me a number, not "give it time" .
Exactly....
How many games do we give it?
8?
10?
18?
He has started six and hasn't scored in open play. He has had chances too. We did buy him to score goals after all.
A few Europa games while he finds his shooting boots may do him good, get among the goals again, and give Defoe a chance to prove his worth too. Win win
Strikers have fragile egos. And any run of blanks is not good.
And we are a squad now. Getting the PL GD into the 30s is most important, not the scorer.
Get him back on the scoresheet against Anzhi, trust Defoe to bully the s. The week after AVB can take stock for the next PL game.

You don`t give him any, you don`t pick the team, AVB does. Luckily for us all.
