Depressingly Mex you are talking sense; putting Nani on the left and taking off Kagawa was a game changer for WBA.

why dont i normally?

You're definitely dragged in the race now.

Spurs and Liverpool are looking efficient in getting results. Imo it will take a record points total for top 4 this year.

I disagree.

I think it could be low. The smaller clubs have already shown they can beat the top sides a little more frequently this season.

Villa beat Arsenal away and City at home.

West Brom have turned over United at Home.

Southampton won at an in form Liverpool.

Spurs and Arsenal will have a slip in coming weeks.

They are in the race for top 4 and it's hardly surprising. Spurs, Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City, Liverpool....all are or likely to be an improvement on last season, and you wouldn't have expected Moyes to have done quite as well as Ferguson in his first season.

Liverpool's form has been fairly poor so far

more a case of grinding out wins when playing poorly

I think Liverpool look really good going forwards. Their midfield looks like it's made out of cheese... that holey, smelly, useless cheese that doesn't work on toast.

Apart from that they're contenders

we looked twice as good going forward last season

something is broken / lost at the moment. We're very happy about the results but generally speaking there is a fair bit of concern about form that has generally been poor

We've only scored one second half goal, Only scored two (and no more) twice, and dropped well into double digits possession wise

results are the same as performances.

Whatever you think of their performances, Liverpool have definitely improved a season on and their results show they're in form.

aren't the same

Ok, so I guess we can expect Liverpool to finish about 8th again then?

I think we've hijacked the article.

My last 2p are that a clear majority of people who watch every minute of every Liverpool match think we're much worse than last season and despite winning yesterday to go 2nd most of the talk is negative and worried.

Results will ultimately dictate how well a team has done at the end of the season. If they finish convincingly higher than they did last season then I think that's enough to say they're a better team.

I'm surprised KT.. Coutinho is a big miss for you already. Brendan seems to buy 2 lemons for every decent player.

I think you'll finish roughly where you did last season.

I'd bite your hand off for 4th spot right now, let's out it that way.

a lot of people think we would have finished convincingly higher if Coutinho and Sturridge were signed in summer rather than xmas.

I expected us to finish convincingly higher even if we signed no one.

We still have a depth problem - the side is loaded with players who look extremely promising in a couple of years. Any significant injuries and we've got a here and now problem.

The only way we're going to know the answer is at the end of the season. If their results echo their performances and pull them down the season to finish near to where they were last season then I guess no improvement after all.

Pull them down the table even.

Fans like the OP make us look like fickle glory hunting prats

We battered Swansea away
We lost at Liverpool by the odd goal and played ok
Played ok v Chelsea and drew
Beat Palace
Knocked our firerce rivals out of a cup
Beat Leverkuson well

But

We got hammered by City at their ground. Under Fergie, we were battered 6-1 at our ground. That result will make no difference to our season except 3 points

All of this negativety is based on the fact we lost our first game of what we thought would be a winnable run

Our two biggest rivals are only just ahead of us with their new managers and they both spent a furtune in the Summer.

FFS get a grip people.

you lot are so reactionary. We're 6 games in, Man Utd's top 4 status is not in threat."

Incredible insight.
