Giroud has more finesse to his game than Drogba, his flick ons and little touches are so good at times.

I don't know so much about this. Although drogba could hold it up and was known for being strong the touches and flicks he laid of to people were immense.

His flick ons are genuinely very good, but how good is his trapping? Give a ball on his chest no problems at all, but too many times the ball gets away from him when given to feet, or maybe im carrying over my critiscisms of him from last season. Hes improved immensely in that dept everyone can see that, but a bit more work to do.

Do the goners think they have enough strength in depth to capture a fourth place finish ?

Also dont get to carried away , they've not exactly had the toughest of starts in the league.

Tosh Drogba was a beautiful and devastating player to watch. Giroud is more the new Berbatov rather than Drogba.

The myth that Drogba was average in his first two season's is hilarious.

Its not a myth, he wasnt crap but he also didnt threaten much, 16 goals each in his 1st two seasons, then a great third season. Confidence.

The new drogba? Are you the new Kanye - totally dillusional?

Giroud reminds me of Berbatov in his Spurs days. A very capable player buy not very mobile he suits a team that plays the ball up to him.

You know who could be the new drogba? Diego costa. He puts himself about, pretty good with his head, gets those niggly fouls, the same off the ball antics, uncanny.

No ice no1 will do what drogba done For a long while but in this league now giroud is the closest we have

If Giroud can start scoring freekicks... start defending corners, start scoring from long range then you never know.

He does defend corners (and excellently too). Nobody can beat him in the air

We will see, I hope this isn't the turning of the tide because arsenal fans are so damn smug about everything. But with luiz in our defence I can see giroud giving him a torrid time. JT and Cahill wudnt have it however

Sorry Mr Chelsea but the fact is that since we signed Giroud, we don't look like conceding from corners. In fact we rarely concede from freekicks as well.

Szczesny, Mert and Giroud have pretty much stopped one of our major weaknesses of the past.

That's cool. I didnt know he could do that. Only seen bits of Giroud. I remember one game from his last season which I saw. Against Liverpool away. His movement was top notch and people laugh at that but its not something you see in all strikers. When you have a striker making not just runs but clever runs, it opens up plenty of space for o thers. My only criticism of him from that game was he was too obsessed with laying it off for others when he should have just taken the shot on himself.

Take a look at some of the free kicks drogba scored and ask yourself if giroud could do the same.

The answer is no. If giroud was more mobile

and a bit less stiff, then maybe.

Giroud is a good player and will always give 100%, (funnily enough drogbas attitude problems dont get mentioned anymore). But drogba was in a class of his own when he could be bothered.

"...or maybe im carrying over my critiscisms of him from last season."

Exactly what his haters doing

Under the circumstancies he played in his Arsenal team and considering his career so far some people dont even believe that this is the same player that played for us in the last season.

In this team playing like we did in the first half nothing is impossible.
