I fully agree with all you said. You should never be worse off working than not working.
Fred.
I didn't say they don't exist you effing moron. You should visit a job centre and talk to the people there before you start banging your Tory drum.
Tory moron? I never voted for that shower....and still feel you shouldnt get money for nothing
Pop down from your soapbox
I've just cooked a decent little fry up for me and the bird
Sausage, egg, bacon, mushrooms, toast, cup of tea - bit of HP sauce
And some motown playin in the background
It's the simple things in life
I generally find stories like this quite funny. But I'm hoping that this one is a joke.
shortnugly
You seem to taking what Fred is saying to completely the other extreme thus sounding a tad hypocritical.
I know people on both sides of the scale. Those who want to work and are struggling and those who choose not to but could.
Example: A close family member who is from a well-off background in Stratford-Upon-Avon is 27 years old. She has had two kids and now doesn't work (but could easily - her old job for example). Lives in a council supported house and is supported financially also. She does nails and fake tan for "friends" for pocket money and doesn't declare her boyfriend (both kids father) living with her.
All in all if she went back to work she would be much worse off. I have to hear about her nights out on the razz one minute and then "how hard" it is the next!!
Why does she do it? BECAUSE SHE CAN!
One example of many i'm afraid.
Also, on another note, how is it that we are actually paying child benefit for polish children that were born in England to polish parents but now live in Poland. How does that work ??
the problem is, despite the claims that the press is biased in highlighting such extreme cases, for many people the benefits system IS broken.
I was working full time, on good pay, and for a long time was putting over a grand a month into the governments tax coffers. I got made redundant due to the banking crises. I have found jobs, and been made redundant again several times now due to the ongoing financial crises. my savings are now gone.
i'm working part time now, and am not, according to the government, allowed any benefits.
due to working more than 16 hours a week, I cannot claim job seekers, due to working less than 25 hours a week I cannot claim working tax credits, i'm apparently ineligible for housing benefit, mortgage tax relief, or anything else. I'm stuck at a point in the middle where I'm unable to get any help, but if I got just few more hours work a week, not only would I have a bit more pay, but i'd also be able to claim for some help from the government. that situation is just ludicrous.
I now have £150 a week pay, to cover my mortgage, pay bills, and buy food, or see my family go cold, hungry and homeless.
so yes, seeing people like this baby factory getting everything handed to them, even though I know it's an extreme minority, really p'sses me off.
i'd also like to know how & why, especially considering how much tax I've paid over the years, I can be left out do dry by the benefits system when I have actually needed them.
the fact is that the benefits system is supposed to be there to help those in need to get back to a level where they can support themselves properly. not to allow people to turn claiming benefits into a full time occupation/lifestyle, which is what far too many people are using it for now.
19th nails it for me....if you have been a taxpayer for any prolonged peroid of time...
then fall on harder times...you shld be able to go to the government and claim back a little of what you have plentifully put in.....
19th, that is a great post and a horrible set of circumstances.
People who are working part time are being hammered by these benefit cuts.
Yes, there are people who are abusing the system, but the simple fact that the divide between the rich and poor in this country is growing on a daily basis and Tory agenda of stigmatising benefit users as scroungers continues, whilst big business continues to rip the taxpayer off with hardly a batted eyelid.
A millionaire can still claim a state pension, whilst a single mum working 16 hours per week gets next to nothing.
It's crazy.
then fall on harder times...you shld be able to go to the government and claim back a little of what you have plentifully put in.....

But you should be given incentive to go back out to work; not make a baby factory like this joker.
Someone mentioned FOOD BANKS earlier.
They are mostly used by alcoholics, drug dependants and vagrants as a means of converting the Produce recieved into Cash, by selling it in Pubs,on the streets, or in exchange for whatever substances they require.. They can be seen most days outside the Salvation Army premises, local Churches and other Charitable organisations, with several spare carrier bags in their pockets and a mate or two to wait outside whilst they go in, one by one to accept their gifts. The whole thing stinks!
The biggest scroungers are the royal family but no one says anything about them
Not going to lie. I thought that it said 'Abuse of Benitez'. I then proceeded to read the first paragraph wondering what this had to do with Benitez. I even glanced back at the Ja606 tab and still read it as 'Abuse of Benitez.'
Scrolling through the comments and saw someone mention 'benefits'. Then it all clicked.

I'm not aware of how the benifit system works in the UK but here in Ireland you can get 188 Euro a week dole money if you are out of work. I know this cause one of my good mates is just home from Oz and he is currently claiming it while, in fairness, he is out everyday looking for a new job.
But several other lads I know, all of whom are in there late 20's to early 30's are not working, claiming dole, living at home and not paying up to their parents. All these lads have a better social life then me, bar the weekend I get paid (monthly) when I tend to go wild.
I can't count how many times I've spoken to lads who say "why work?" It's easier to not work and claim then work and not claim in plenty of peoples eyes
I thought Benitez did well at Chelsea.
the most awful feeling second only to ill health is not working; I might not get bill gates salaries but having somewhere to go and input and think makes me happy; how any healthy individual would rather not I cannot understand
If someone wants do something about benefits, they should start with the royal family.
Chemical castration...
For the sake of the community and the kids...(being stretched than thiny cannot be good for the kids)...
Just another strain on social services !

I believe passionately that we need to look after our fellow man, and those who are in genuine need of help deserve the best we can offer on the Welfare State.
Unfortunately there are those that choose to make a career out of it and successive governments have failed to tackle the problem. The upshot is even the genuine get tarred with the same brush. The chap in the article is a cancer on the goodwill of the nation. The lowest of the low to brag about taking more if he wants.
Sadly there will always be those that take advantage. It's the nature of the system but there are not enough efforts made to make sure the help goes to the right people.
Funny how an article can make me so angry.
Sub human sc#m, simple as that.
Personally I'd cut his balls off with an electric strimmer or fek him off to Africa to learn how people in the real world have to work to feed their kids.
