Why would you drop Babar for Rehman? Babar did really well in getting out top order batsman.

I cant see us dropping Azhar. Probably his last chance in Dubai.

Next game;

Drop azhar, bring in umar Amin
Shafiq to bat at 3
Drop Zulficar and bring back Rehman

----
you feeling alright? We just won a test match against the best team in the world and you want two changes plus a change in the batting order?

Azhar Ali has been an excellent servant for us since he has broke into the team. He and Misbah are part of Pakistan's every of the little batting success we have had. The rest came along, Shafiq came after a bit as did Younis, openers have come and gone.

Can't see him getting dropped, he is just in bad form and that's difficult to regain against the best team in the world. His batting style also makes it difficult to regain for him. Plus if you give the likes of Farhat and Hafeez 10 years to prove themselves, how can you drop Azhar? Well, they did drop Jamshed after a game didn't they

When's the last time we lost a home test series? We have not lost in the UAE, England or NZ where we have played so called home series.

The answer is 2007

We are unbeaten in the uae... However;

Robin, azhar looks aweful we won this effectively with 10 men. He's lost it big time.

Kash, still think if Rehman Is fit he should come in, he defo turns it more than barber. Barber has done well no doubt, but I still feel we'll be even stronger with Amin and Rehman.

Rehman does not spin it much either. He's more wicket to wicket while Babar gives it more of a rip. Rehman is supposed to be a better batsman but has never shown it. Let's just say I wont be disappointed either way.

Not sure where your Amin confidence comes from while Shafiq has always looked dodgy against a new ball so moving him to 3 will not work. I think Azhar deserves 1 more test.

how many tests in this series? and whens the next match?.

posted on 17/10/13

Just a 2 test series and 2nd test starts 23rd October

Never been a fan of a 2 test series but if we win 1-0 who cares.

posted on 17/10/13

you cant lose now though.. I don't like 2 test series either..England will be playing 2 against sri-lanka again in june I believe like they did in sri-lanka a coupla years ago.

Dude,

At least give urself 5 minutes to update the match thread and show some respect and dignity that the Pakistan team deserve today. Poor summary that.

Give us some stats and facts to make our mind boggle.

This doesn't really count, does it. Pudding of a pitch that only suits Pakistan's dodgy spinners.

posted on 17/10/13

uncle doesn't really count? oh ok then tell that to SA and England who have lost 4 games between them in UAE so far.

posted on 17/10/13

The UAE tracks are not Bunsen burners like you see in India. They are very flat but if you have a world class spinner then you are always in the game.

Ajmal V Peterson there is no comparison. Peterson won't even get in Pakistan 'F' side.

Its great winning world cups at odi cricket no doubt about it, But most fans would rather win a test series rather then the usual odi series that come before or after the test matches.
Its a shame England have to wait 2/3 years before we go to SA again.
Good win by Pakistan today, in 4 days to. Was the batting that impressed me more..Nigh on 400 runs is a must especially batting first.
I go on about batting a lot because it gives you a great chance of firstly not losing the game.. then secondly placing pressure on the opposition when bowling.

Test results of Pakistan for the last 2-3 years are similar to what India achieved during 90's under Azharuddin captiancy when they defeated sides like S.A & Aus at home but lost to Zimbabwe abroad.Lions at home and lambs abroad.

But right now, they do not deserve any criticism whatsoever. They have won the last 4 test matches they have played against the world's best and series victory against Saffers looks likely. They deserve every bit of praising for defeating Saffers despite of playing so little cricket of late.

I agree that test series is what decides a tour. If you win the test series you can live with losing the one day and T20 series. Also think this 2017 test championship has put test cricket back up as all the teams want to be in the top 4.

England and SA are certain, India should be in top 4 and then its a scramble between Aus, Pak and SL for the final spot. Pakistan need to make sure they play plenty of home series.

Pakistan till I die,

Good to hear from you again. You always talk sense and very objective with your thoughts - ESP on India.

For me, glad we won, but I am getting sick and tired off azhar Ali like u was with hafeez. I'm not calling for him to be dropped altogether from the squads, but he's been around for a few years now and needs to take a bit of responsibility and accountability. He looks woefully short and inadequate when you compare him with other number 3 batsmen from the top 5/6 nations

Azhar Ali Performance in 2013

12 innings 232 runs averaging 19.33 and sr of 32 with 2 50s.

Need a big score if he plays next game. He's nothing more than a coward, looks scared everytime he comes out. Replace him now or in 5 years, makes no difference at all, an average player will always be average. Shafiq at 3 please.

To be fair, I don't think India or pak games will bring any results in those matches. I can't see India taking 20 pakistani wickets and the Indians play spin well and I don't see us rolling there batsmen out for under 300-350..... They'll just end up score bores

Congratulations Pakistan.

There's inconsistent, then there's you boys.

Good win, against a top side.

this one sidedness of tests cricket is a concern but its also good for cricket. Atleast teams will have motivation to do well in such places where its so difficult to beat the home team
