They've sufficiently lowered my expectations of pretty much everything.

You're finally looking like you may be able to do something in the league - whether that be 4th or not, who knows.

I think you'd have already been a top 4 contender a year or so ago if not for Kenny.

they inherited a disaster and have done a very good job turning it around

I personally think there can be very few Liverpool fans who can see where you are now, compared with 3-4 years ago, and suggest nothing has changed. You have a handful who are set against them (for God only knows what reasons), I simply cannot understand why.

ARE is a grand lad he has his opinion on FSG but is willing to give them kudos when they do something good, as for shortlight well......

ARE is alright

I think he was very scarred from the last owners and has a very, very high degree of mistrust is all

I think they had a mixed first two years with some rash decisions made (albeit with the best interests of the club at heart).

The last year I have been a lot more impressed with the whole atmosphere of the club, the positive moves in the transfer market and cohesiveness across the age groups, as well as the financial growth. Some of this is down to Rodgers, but its FSG who employed him. I think they were a bit burnt by the previous failures in the transfer market and didn't entirely trust BR at first but they now do and are giving him full backing as a result.

I think the stadium issue continues to hang over them in the eyes of many fans, and only when real progress is made in the redevelopment of Anfield (alongside on pitch progress) will people be completely convinced by them.

I remain optimistic that they will complete an Anfield redevelopment, and that we will get back in the CL before long.

People go on about they just want to sell and make a profit, but that doesn't bother me. If they sell the club in a much stronger position than they took it over, on and off the pitch, and sell it on to a responsible owner, then I don't care if they make money out of it, why shouldn't they?

Liverpool appear a much more stable, credible and forward thinking club these days versus 3 years ago. they arent drenched in silverware, but there is a clear progression and cohesiveness to their approach, and to be sure there will be a trophy or two in the next few years, along with a possible top 4 place.

I was also very impressed with both the proactiveness in the transfer market, and the firm stance over Suarez.

We were 4 points away from the relegation zone when Kenny took over

This will be the final hurdle FSG to show that they are here for the long run and want us to be successful again. So far they have been steady without being spectacular but after H&G maybe we needed that.

Nice one, so you're saying they haven't sufficiently lowered your expectations?

How is this a bad thing?

Do you even understand the meaning of what I wrote?

I expect not.

"They've sufficiently lowered my expectations of pretty much everything"

There's not much left open to interpretation there ,is there Bobby?

Why not expand on this, rather than your usual smart-ass one-liners.

Keep It Greasey

Rodgers has been barking on about how not to expect top 4 anytime soon, I expect this has come from the higher echelons on FSG, this is lowering expectations. Therefore because we're now exceeding those expectations everyone is ridiculously happy. Job done, see?

posted on 15/10/13

Bobby, did you ever consider that expectations were out of joint with reality after the cowboys put effectively put us into administration and oversaw the 'sell more than you buy policy' which crippled the side?

comment by Bobby (U4765)

Yeah absolutely, this is why they've lowered expectations. I'm not suggesting this is a bad thing.

After the line;

"What are they smoking over there?"

They're good with me for the next 6 decades.

Initially they made some mistakes (the Carroll transfer & in the eyes of many the way they responded to the first Suarez ban).
Commercially things have developed well off the pitch and since appointing Brendan things on the pitch are progressing steadily in the right direction (attractive, effective football, up the PL table).
We have a small squad relative to our top 4 rivals, but it is looking increasingly talented with each transfer window that passes.
Also I am encouraged by the return of Kenny and new posts for Fowler et al. FSG want the identity of LFC to retain a strong link with our history and traditions and these recent appointments help do just that.

Set against the nightmare unfolding under Dumb & Dumber - FSG have much still to prove (stadium in particular), but I for one am very happy with our owners right now.
