I would put Sturridge on the plane. There's only him, Rooney and Defoe who are in any sort of form right now.
The top goalscoring English midfielder not nailed on? Who would you suggest apart from Rooney ahead of him?
Sturridge has played well with Rooney in the last two games. Barring injury, he is certain to board the plane. Can't see past your bluenose with this bizarre comment.

Your idiocy rubbing off on me.
Even when fans of nearly every club on here are crediting all the players with good performances, the sad blueshite fans are still getting lippy. They have to be the most bitter of any on here, unbelievable at times
We looked poor defensively to be honest, if Lewandowski had a better game the result could have been different.
I thought the defence were very good. Poland had a few counter attacks, with players caught up field which is to be expected when you're going all out for the win, needing it for qualification.
On today's performance Sturridge has a very long way to go to prove his worth at international level because he was utter rubbish. Hardly looked like the PL's top goal scorer. Defoe might be a better gamble at this level.
i think walcott could miss out. i still don't rate him at all. if townsend, oxlade-chamberlain and lennon are in form then walcott misses out. you can put forster, walker and wilshere on that list as well

Well that was you falling on your own sword!
He is a one goal in three at international level, how many he has scored for Liverpool means nothing for me at International level. Should he go before a player who has a record of 1 in 2?
You pick players on form not past records Arouna.
If Sturridge stays on form he will go. He has been part of the team that won both of these crucial games and has looked dangerous in both of them.

I agree, he has been the form striker since the turn of the year.
But his record for England is not so hot.

Compared to his streak for Liverpool how could it be called hot?
He is a very dangerous attacker that defenders wouldn't want to play against.
Carry on his form, and he's on the plane.

Thats the problem I had with the original post. It was based on him going based on his form now. Other players have better international strike rates. I dont fornone minute knock his league/club form.
England hardy have an abundance of options to choose from up front Sturridge is currently the in form striker in England, plays for a big club, and has played two extremely high pressure games and has done well, partnering Rooney effectively.
Yet because of your big blue blinkers you question he will be on the plane to Brazil?

Name them... and the opposition they have scored against.
I'm sure if Sturridge played v San Marino at home he'd have scored.
He played away came on as sub and scored.
Played v Montenegro scored and played a key role
Played v Poland, a very high pressure match and played well.
If the World Cup was starting tomorrow he'd be in the squad.

PPD, how bitter are you? I said in the post right above that he is the in form striker in the league since Jan.....but I am bitter!
His league form means nothing when you look at his international form he is a 1 in 3 guy at the moment.
Others saying he would have more goals if he played against other teams....how can you say that? He could have broken his leg.....or been abducted by aliens for all you know!

But we are not talking about Henry.....or France. We are talking about England. Look at the strike rates of other english players at International who he is in competition with.
Is Sturridge at his peak? Nope.
Thereby, the 1 in 3 strike rate is fine by me. He is a danger whenever he's on the ball.
1 in 3? That's not bad at international level, over a full career. However considering he's just really started at international level, he'll better that.
Are you sure this is not his peak? You have made an assumption he will only get better. Im not sure what will happen. But he is a 1 in 3 @ the moment.....he was gifted a chance of his last international goal.
