He doesn't compliment Carrick either imo which makes it harder for him, what you lot need is an energetic box to box mid alongside Carrick, Cleverley sounds like he fits the bill, how has he been this season?

Cleverly is alright, and he'll work hard for the team, the sort of good squad player that has served United well over the years, a la Fletcher. But technically he's still at least a level below the cream of the crop in terms of central midfielders, and despite still being young, I don't think he'll ever make it to that level.

Your midfield needed work this summer, instead of spending most of it trying to scrape and save a couple of mill of targets like Fabregas, you should have just stumped up the cash to begin with, as Arsenal have with Ozil, and brought in a world class midfielder.
