Marcelino, don't get me wrong, serie a is my fave league bar the prem. Some of my favourite players play there (or used to... Lamela/jovetic....)
I have already watched the game.
You say Juve' are functional, but if you got them in a knockout game a lot of your fans would be slightly nervous.
If we played crystal palace I would also be slightly nervous right now! Doesn't take away from the fact that serie a is a poor league and if I had a choice of playing Barcelona, real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, bayern Munich, dortmund, Chelsea, arsenal, man city, Paris Saint ger man, Monaco and juventus, i would choose juventus every single time. Why? Because we would have a better chance of beating them.
No I understand that.
The quality of the teams just now is not great, but there are some very exciting young players in that league- and I think a few of them will go onto become well known.
Furthermore, they are changing their financial attitudes- they are investing in youth and for the first time in a while are managing to sell players for decent money- e.g Lamela and Marquinhos.
Give it five years.
I like that and I think it's absolutely something they need to do. I hope financially, they can keep the best young guys too. It would be good to have a really strong serie a again. There are very talented young players too. Believe me, I would love to see ballotelli plot the winning penalty in a champions league final (so long as it's not against us).
*slot. Don't think he'd need to plot it lol
Merry... Am sorry you are the one who is mistaken. Just how many players have we bought that were obviously better than the system players? Rossi as an option behind rooney tevez or spending 30 million on berbatov? Cleverley or anderson? Jones or smalling on the right or rafa?
My point is buying players without testing our youngsters out first for me is just plain wasteful. Not giving pogba a chance instead of 2 years later spending 27 million on fellaini? Unneccearily deluded.
I am not saying play youngsters all the time, just make sure we try them out first before they get rid at a value clearly under their price and then spend on risky players. What is the point of signing rossi, train him for 3 years sell him for 7 million literally 1/3 his price without playing him? What is the point of letting go of our best young players when we have weaknesses? When we rarely splash the cash like a city or chelsea? When our scouting is questionable at best? When our best teams have had at its heart young talented players from our system as well as teams like barca?
Very good player, shame injuries have hampered him this far Into his career. I remember one particularly good season he had with Villarreal prior to his injury, those saying he isn't good enough for us are crazy (probably saying we play boring football in the same sentence )
Rossi wasnt good enough for utd and the fact hes been successful at villareal and fiorentina dosent change that. I think the pogba episode is clouding the fact that young players have always been given a chance to break into the first team. Macheda, Gibson , Brady are just 3 of the top of my head that were given first team action in recent years.
Rossi was superb before injury, had the same long-term injury twice in a row
Rossi without the injuries would have been good enough at United. We are hardly setting the world alight now you know ! If players like Young,Valencia..Gibson before that and now Fellaini are good enough then he certainly is. I love this arrogance of they are not good enough for United but the fact is we are lacking a good 3 or 4 players to take us to the level we should be striving for.
Spurs buy Sandro,Dembele,Paulinho.. we buy Fellaini. Those three are all better players than Fellaini and that's really the main thing i blame Moyes for thus far.

Jesus how did moyes come into this article about rossi and pogba. Dont forget hes just signed up probably one of the best young players in europe at the moment but dont let that get in the way of your anti moyes crusade....
What Blabla I dont have any anti Moyes campaign..reread my post or just read it properly. I clearly say the only thing i really blame Moyes for is Fellaini !
Anyhow the club are paying Januzaj a fortune..market rates to keep him. They will all try it now after Rooney the first time. Half the reason Pogba left I reckon was money anyway not just playing chances. SAF gave Januzaj a squad number and was on the verge of playing him end of last season but fair is fair and Moyes has thrown him in and thats to be applauded.

You mention spurs signing sandro dembele and paulinho when moyes wasnt even utd manager when two of those players went to WHL. As for Fellaini well he wasnt the only player moyes went after in the summer but you are conveniently forgeting that. The transfer window was a disaster but it wasnt just down to moyes...
Blabla - What are you on about. I mention those Spurs players as I am generally saying we are not that good right now and IMO were not last season etehr particularly, nothing to do with Moyes. You keep going on about mOyes and as I say again the only thing I blame him for is Fellaini who isn't good enough. (Rossi was). The window was a disaster and yes it wasn't down to Moyes alone hence that's why I didn't blame him !! Not sure why you are attempting to brand me with an anti-Moyes agenda. Many a thread I say he needs time and it's one of the hardest jobs in football to follow SAF.

FB it looked like you were blaming moyes for the non purchase of those 3 players but i say again he did try by the creative cm we needed and as for fellaini he hasnt been good but I think a bit more than 2 months is warranted before you can judge the player.
Appologys though for the anti moyes accusation
Nope I was in a way blaming Fergie for not buying Dembele in particular when he was available. Yes I agree that Moyes and Fellaini both need time but I just feel Fellaini is not really what we needed. I think we need more pace and energy in central midfield together with a creative player, yes a Mata, Silva, Modric etc. If he continues with same formation and Nani and Januzaj are regular first choices there is only really the position next to Carrick that is available and that will be Fellaini generally having spent 27m or Cleverley. It's a conundrum in a way. I mean imagine Gundogan and Fabregas for example next to each other
