This guy you speak the truth. 10 star from me had it been available. I like people who think for themseleves and not this " Sir Alex chose him" so he is right. Get out of here, Sir Alex no matter how great he is has made mistakes. He signed Hernandez and also signed bebe. Well Who's to say he has not chosen the wrong man for united?

Have to be honest, I actually think now that Klopp is slightly overrated. I'll explain why tomorrow though as it will take a while!

Moyes didn't play Barkley that much, yes he gave him his debut but often last season had him kicking his heels on the bench while P.Neville was eating up the game time.

The author's passion and serious consideration of the topic are tangible and laudable. I also encourage his burgeoning talent for that invaluable rhetorical device of the footballing world, the mixed metaphor, and look forward to Manchester United issuing a new jersey with the badge relocated to the sleeve.

It annoys me when people use 'installed' rather than 'instilled'. It's the new 'their, they're or there'.

One has to wonder why a manager realised a player wasn't good enough for a midfield position in Everton but thinks he is good enough for Manchester United.

I think Ferguson's departure was unexpected. A quick appointment was required. Overwhelming need at United is for a manager who will work with the owners - i.e. won't kick off when money goes to Uncle Malc rather than to strengthen the team. Therefore no egos, so no superstars like Pep or Maureen.

Klopp wasn't available, and also looks to me as too big a personality for United. Personally I also think he is overrated.

Very good article and agree fully with your thoughts on Moyes, Mou and Pep.
I wouldnt mind Klopp but the guy I would like to see take over is/was Diego Simeone. I feel guys like Klopp, Simeone and say Conte weren't looked at because of the 'no prem experience' tag which i think is total bs. Look at Potchettino and how quickly he put his mark on southampton, Laudraup at Swansea, and AVB given the freedom to put his stamp on Spurs.
I would love for Moyes to succeed but i dont think he has that edge that players AND managers at this great club should possess.
So lets start talking abt Diego Simeone, i would h.ate to see him at a prem rival....

So your article states - after the fact you're a long time reader, first time poster. (WUM alert) -

a) SAF's the best ever. (obvious)

b) Moyes isn't good enough (hindsight is wonderful, but 8 games in??? )

c) Mourinho would play unattractive football and think he's bigger than the club. (cliche)

d) Guardiola would've been good (So would winning the lottery. There was no chance of us getting him)

e) Klopp is the greener grass we should be grazing on (about 3 months late with this, and pretty boring.)

f) You want us to judge Moyes on 1 season? (ridiculous)

g) YOu want Moyes to succeed. (are you sure. You won't get Klopp for Christmas if this happens)

I was really suprised that Utd didnt go for Klopp to replace Fergie although having said that I suspect that Utd did approach Klopp about the Utd job.

Its quite possible that Klopp turned Utd down because he is onto a good thing with Dortmund and the prospect of being the man to directly replace Fergie is a daunting task for any manager.

I suspect Moyes was a plan B or even a plan C for Utd.
