Wilshere is by some distance the more talented. If it makes you happy then yes, dembele is better than an out of form Wilshere, still struggling to regain full fitness.

Can you describe his talent in more detail please? Because he's certainly not a better passer or dribbler...

Wilshere's stats 2012/13..

Passing accuracy 86%
passing forward percentage 28%
Def Zone passing accuracy 93%
Att zone passing accuracy 80%
Final third passing accuracy 79%
mins per chance created 37

Can DemPele beat that for the whole season?

Why can't you post dumb DemPele's stats?

Per game in 2012/13, Dembele had a higher pass accuracy, more interceptions, more tackles, more headers, more shots, more goals, more clearances and was dribbled past less. They both had 3 assists. Wilshere had more key passes and dribbles, although Dembele has overtaken him on those this season

Wilshere is more talented and has more potential. Dembele is a good player and is probably more consistent than Wilshere in terms of performance level, but I still feel Wilshere will be the better of the two.

Wilshere's vision and long-passing is better than Dembele's. Dembele's dribbling and acceleration supersedes Wilshere's. In terms of shooting, neither of them score enough I feel but Dembele's scored a few from long range, so his shot from distance is probably better than Wilshere's. This season Jack's underperformed in quite a few games (understandably so), so normally I'd say I feel Wilshere is more important to our attacking play than Dembele is for Spurs, but I'm not sure if that holds true for this season.

More headers? because he is taller than Wilshere?

Goals are cyclic..Ramsey scored more than twice the amount of goals than 25mil Soldado in this season. We can argue all day long about the number of goals scored. How does that more clearance stat makes him a better CM?

Why don't you post your stats here?

I was just listing the stats, wasn't saying they make him better

Samir, I agree that wilshere SHOULD become the better player, injuries or some other reason for a halt in progression could change that however

Analog, I am still waiting for your stats..

Of course. But I would expect him to be a better player than what he's showing at the moment.

One area where I wish Jack was better in was goalscoring. Obviously in the last two league games, he has scored, but I'm hoping he spreads them more across the season and can do so consistently. If he could add that to his game, on top of improving his decision-making when dribbling with the ball, he could potentially be a complete midfielder.

He has the tools to be the best English midfielder in the Premier League. It's down to him to fulfil it.

Disagree on your last point Samir, don't think he's 'well rounded' enough

Last season's tottenham stats, look next to Dembele and switch to defensive/passing etc just above

Chamberlain/Barkley

Barkley? I don't see it. Could be a top player, but I see more in Wilshere. As for Chamberlain, again, I can't see him being as good as Wilshere. It's also unclear as to where Chamberlain's best position is. Some say he can play as an attacking midfielder, some say he should be a winger. Even I myself am not totally sure. We need to find the best position for him first.

Jack Wilshere was injured most part of the 12/13 season and limiting his appearances to 20 games..

In this season, he performed better than DemPele.

I didn't realise Dembele was so old Thought he was 23 or something.

I'd say Dembele is the better player, but it's not a huge gap.

Unfortunate for Jack he had 2 years out with injury, he'd at least be on par now if he hadn't.

Well, we have better players in attacking midfield, he isn't a natural winger and you can tell that by his style of play. The position we've seen the best of Wilshere in has been as a deep-lying central midfielder. That's his most effective position.
