I remember Dembele scoring a good goal in the previous season. Was it against Lyon in the Europa?

Yes

Wilshere is better than Dembele. They are pretty much on par. But that has more to do with Wilshere being off form.
Never particularly rated the Belgian. Always saw him as a poor mans, left footed version of Diaby.

So... Overall conclusion from gooners = Dembele is better

Seeing as he's been injured for a while, and was out a whole year. Yeah. Could be so.

Shows how pathetic Spurs fans are when they compare one of their best players to a kid who's still finding his way.
What a player Dembele is.

Analog, Wilshere was one of our most influential players last season when he came back from injury. Didn't happen straight away, but he grew into being the driving force in our midfield. It's a little naive to suggest he hasn't been 'on form' since 2010.

Samir, it's just that you can never seem to judge wilshere cos he's never 'fully fit' or 'on top form' from experience

Dembele has to be the best central midfield dribbler in the league as he bursts past the opposition midfield but his brain deserts him oce he gets to the last 3rd of the pitch and he becomes utterly clueless. Rarely ever see him make a through pass or lofted ball over the top or something productive. On the balance of both his offensive and defensive qualities, he's been better than Jack for the last year but Wilshere would definitely grow into a better player if he can overcome his injury vulnerability. I don't think Dembele would get much better but I think Wilshere will.

That's why I compared him to Diaby Sheriff. Both very similar. Both are quite thick on the ball.
But the Frenchman literally dominates midfield when he's on song, unlike Dembele.

Dembele >>> Diaby

Quite the opposite really. You'll soon change your tune (like you did with Ramsey) if Diaby ever strings more than 2 games together.
Dembele's not that good really.

Diaby if I remember correctly was fit for a lot of the 2009/10 season and played very well but still not as good as Dembele imo

Also it's not really 'changing your tune' if a player simply improves

Dembele's better now but like Ramsey Wilshere will overtake him soon.

Wilshere has shown no signs of improvement in the past 2 seasons

This Analog guy is clueless. Jog on.

First off he was injured for 1 and half of those seasons. Just like Ramsey he will improve. Dembele is 26 now and he will never be elite.

Dubbed, so why do arsenal fans always refer back to 2010? I know he's been injured but his progression has still been halted, no?

When he's been playing he has NOT played better than he was 3 years ago = showing no signs of improvement (as of yet)
