Carr showed he isn't any good yesterday..He made Stead look good..

Pato is history, so we need to at least replace him....

posted on 3/11/13

I thought that too myth, but surely we can't judge him on 15 minutes of his senior debut?

Saying that, Holmes was outstanding on his.

lets put this one to bed..

we were dreadfull as an attacking unit on Saturday..

stead was " on his own" , just that.

Vaughan would not have fared much better..

carr was on a hiding to nothing and im very annoyed with robins for bringing him on at that time and when we were playing so badly.

we made 2 comical errors, they made one.

we scored on half time and forgot to come out in the second half.

we didn't have a man of the match and stead actually wasn't the worst waste of a shirt on the day, others beat him hands down.

no excuses, if you never really try to win a game ,you cant moan if you lose it.

poor performance, poor tatics and management. robins talking about hammill to the press was very poor management. hammill was passed the ball once in the second half, and it was a bad ball, that's why he was annoyed, it all went up in the air or where danny ward was supposed to be, it was sh-te.

2 bits of non defending and the wrong attitude and tactics from start to finish....

robins is not the messiah and he is making errors...

Same old tripe rolled out on a Friday, " we will look to build on that win " boll-ocks. Then after the inevitable defeat. " We will get back to the drawing board "! !Every fooking week is the same.

38 can say what he wants, but the facts remain that we lost by the smallest of margins, to a team including many players with Premiership experience and to a club who are being helped with a £20 million parachute payment, plus they are also the current FA Cup holders and will also be competing in the Europa League competition this season.

So, although I didn't see the match myself it would appear from many reports that the game could have gone either way, since there was little to choose between both teams.

Robin's also adds in today's Yorkshire Post "his side were unfortunate to lose the game and the result didn't tell the full story", plus "I thought we did well and to come to Wigan and have the lions share of possession is very good and overall I'm pleased, but also disappointed that we've not taken at least a point - and maybe even three"

As for the immature Hammill, Robins did right to criticise him in public, particularly following Hammill's public show of petulance towards Robins, following his substitution.

Robins also says in today's Post that "the 25 year old (Hammill) needs to change his attitude, or he is going to end up paying us money to play for us, because he's being fined every week . Nothing really surprises me with Adam. That's just him - he needs to grow up. He's just been to see me and apologised and that's what happens - I fine him and we get on with it, until next time"

So, considering Hammill was very lucky not to have been jailed earlier for lashing out at a woman medic who came to his aid, I reckon Robins is doing the right thing in making our fans fully aware of just what he his having to deal with regarding Hammill's overall childish attitude.

In short, Hammill needs to keep his gob shut and concentrate fully on what he is being well paid to do. ie: to live the very privileged life of a current day footballer.

I want our players to be upset at being withdrawn, it shows they care. And if he's not getting the service then he's every right to be p-ssed off.

We're not overly blessed with talent but Hammill can be a genuine match winner given the right supply. He's played most of the season out of position at wing back too without being a

Tell you something else, I'd rather Robins left the club than Hammill...

Mirf, I see your point. But the fact of the matter is that a loss is a loss whether it's 1-0 or 6-0.

Two things.

If we played with one man up front, Literally on his own, and still to be within a shout of getting some thing from the game near the end.....as Coyle said, "We had to hang on towards the end".
Yes, As a team we did do ok taking into account they did us in the FA Cup at our place with ease just a few months ago.

But.
This 'lone striker' tactic has to stop.
Also, the fortuitous deflection kept us in it. I've seen it.
But for that, The original shot was missing by a country mile. So along with this ridiculous one man up front formation, the gap is never going to be breached.
It would seem we just get beaten by...
Less

So that's the work in progress is it ?
30 odd games in, He still uses the same formation as the two previous managers.
And statistically Mirf, nowhere near his success ratio at Coventry .
I think, or would suggest, rather than Wigan's financial advantage being mentioned as an excuse for Towns 'improvement'. It might be fair to point out, The departure of Martinez, & the appointment of Coyle may have more to do with this improvement...
Just saying.
What do you think ?

1 man up front is NEVER going to work.

Darn,

Don't forget Town are not competing on a level playing field with most of the clubs in this division.

If we'd beaten Wigan, we would have been on the fringe of the play-off's and only 3 points behind the likes of reading and Forest, who have spent an absolute sh-t load of money, compared to Town.

So I still maintain Robin's is doing OK, given the level of competition in The Championship and off hand, I cant think of anyone who might have done any better, except of course Wor Lee. ably backed up Derek, Terry & Steve.

Anyhow, foc Town - when are the Shaymen going to win an away game?

fair do's Mirf,

You have me over a barrel with that one

Well smashed at the weekend, have a butchers at 'FCHT's report.

Back to Town,
Look I agree mate, The result wasn't bad...
A definite improvement compared to our last meeting with them,
& QPR got nothing there either, endorsing the fact WIgan are indeed hard to beat at home.

But the 1 man formula isn't right (imo).
Even if you & others agree it is 'a work in progress'..ok,
I just wish he'd stop saying it, because to me, it comes across like an excuse..
I would much rather he'd said something along the lines of,
'We were beaten by a better side on the day,'
or ' if my players would support the lone striker with more urgency when appropriate, I think we could get better results', because this is clearly not happening,
So.
are the players carrying out instruction to the letter !
or failing to do what MR intends ?

We need to know one way or the other,
Saying 'work in progress' doesn't do that.

Qpr got a point didn't they?

Considering the quality of their players and the amount of brass the've spent, QPR should get 3 points every game, never mind one.
