"In Uruguay offering 40 million and a pound is seen as gesture of good will and creates an ever lasting bond between two clubs"
For a group of fans that have boycotted the Sun, these Liverpool fans seem very much on the same wavelength.
"..urm - you'll find that alot of clubs tend to get the asking price, or near it, if they hold firm."
That happens pretty rarely in my view.
"IF saurez leaves...I do think we will get 50 million plus for him.Which is what is rumoured Liverpool wanted...."
Great, that doesn't matter.
Whatever you sell him for still doesn't mean Arsenal did anything wrong by bidding less than that.
Get over it.
"and the fact you dident get him for 4000001, actually supprost this argument"
What argument?
That Liverpool didn't want to sell him. I didn't realise that was an argument.
Believe it or not I figured that out when the offer was rejected.
"There wasent a negotiation as such...Liverpool said 50 million AND they woudl not sell him to another prem club."
An offer and a rejection constitues a negotiation.
"Torres - John Henry did say that, but when 50 million came along, for a spent player...well it was a no brainer. He wasent performing in a Liverpool shirt at the time."
So he was full of it then.
I won't sell he said - he sold.
"For a group of fans that have boycotted the Sun, these Liverpool fans seem very much on the same wavelength."
OP is unreal.
Bidding for a player, outrageous.
Liverpool fans just can't stomach that Arsenal has surpassed them as a club.
If Suarez signed for Arsenal it would have been obvious proof. So they just insult the club and live in denial
Liverpool first bid for Saurez to prise him from Ajax was nealry half of what they got him from.
Approximately £10m short of what they eventually got him for.
Perhaps you should look into how transfers work at your own club. I'd recommend a boycott as doing such things is obviously against your ethos.

The fact that you read The Sun (how else would you know what "wavelength" they are on?) explains SO much about you and your opinions. None of it good.

I suggest setting up a charitable foundation to help raise the £9,999,999 short of the £50m.
Such a tragedy must never happen again.
Never forget.

It's pretty easy to see that The Sun and other tabloids love getting people riled up over nothing, you can identify this without buying into it as the OP has.

Now how do you know he reads the sun....or has he just quoted from online stories and reports?
But then again unless told, you would have no idea these came from the sun.....or would you?
Arouna, you're not making sense. (for a change)
He/she said "For a group of fans that have boycotted the Sun, these Liverpool fans seem very much on the same wavelength."
That implies that he/she knows what wavelength The Sun is on doesn't it? I assume that he/she reads it to know what wavelength it is on. Unless they work for it, how else would they know other than by reading it?
As for "But then again unless told, you would have no idea these came from the sun.....or would you?"
What you talkin' 'bout?
Some people really will argue anything, won't they?
I think you'll find most of the country - excluding dogs and children under the age of 10 - know what the Sun newspaper is like.
That doesn't mean everyone reads it.
I cannot believe I have had to write that post. Utterly pathetic.

Well we truly messed up that transfer window with the Carroll/Torres situation and it was down to panic buying another ST after Torres. If Suarez left 2 weeks before the window shut, we would have needed to go out and buy another ST with the £40-60m looming over, bumping every players valuation by £20m no doubt.
Henry learned from his mistakes. Either that or he really would have sold him with little time to get a replacement, and with the other players value inflated. Which would have been silly.
Winston: "...I think you'll find most of the country - excluding dogs and children under the age of 10 - know what the Sun newspaper is like..."
Knowing what it's like is one thing, but knowing it's "wavelength" on specific subjects suggests reading it doesn't it?
And anyway, I disagree with your point, as it is still, rather worryingly, the most read "news"paper in the UK I believe, which implies that "most of the country" either DON'T know what it is like, or are so stupid that they keep buying it anyway.
Even without the Hillsborough issue, I really cannot understand why so many people buy the thing.

You have now created numerous articles on how pool will be too hot to handle for arsenal.
It's like you have convinced yourself that pool will come away with all 3.
I'm very realist but your delusion when talking about pool is absolutely insane.
You have really set yourself up, if we beat you, you know you will get every gooner on your board for at leas a few days.
Let's just see what happens in the actual game without making countless articles about pool swamping us

Get real - it's quite possible to know what a paper is like and to know what wavelength it's on, without reading it.
I really do think you're arguing for arguings sake.
Arouna :"So you believe his quote from a paper you dont read?"
Seriously, I have no clue what you are on about! What quote??
Anyway, I would, if forced, believe somebody I don't know posting something on the internet over what the sun may or may not say. That paper is proven to lie, as yet, the people on here only appear to be idiots, not liars.
There appeared to be some sort of vague statement in Suarez contract which allowed him to talk to another club with a bid over £40m. However, there was no release clause which Suarez, Arsenal and his agent thought probably though there was.
What is incredibly amateurish on Arsenal's part was to make a £40m +1 bid, without at first clarifying the situation. Their fans became over excited and ended with egg on their faces.
As for GB's optimism. Hopefully he is proved right. The problem is that since this site has opened time and time again he has been proved wrong. I think you will find that most Liverpool fans would be happy with a point before a ball is kicked.
Arsenal fans are also guilty of blind optimism now things have been on the up. A few bad results and they will soon return to their Wenger Outing. They are easily the most fickle fans on JA.
I'd definitely take a point. If Arsenal press us high up I think it could be a similar game to Southampton.
Arsenal did nothing wrong regarding Suarez whatsoever. There was no concerted campaign (a la Barcelona), and no illicit meetings (a la ashley cole & chelsea), in fact the majority of the media storm was fuelled by Liverpool. They put in a bid, probably driven by misguided agents, and when that was rejected, they moved on.
The acrimony that has been generated is between the fans, who have both contributed.
Liverpool fans have had their noses put out of joint because Arsenal had the audacity to put a bid in for their star player which fell way below their 'valuation'. Well liverpool fans you should be happy it was arsenal that came in, because if it had been madrid, your star player would be playing at the bernabeau now.
Arsenal fans got a little presumptuous over the signing, which irked the liverpool fans, and so it spiralled. The bottom line is that neither club did anything wrong, it was just a storm in a teacup, stirred by the media and the fans - please get some perspective.
Regarding this thread, it originates with something verging on the ramblings of a child, and degenerates into some of the most pointless small minded bickering I have seen in a while. Credit to the couple of posters who actually recognise this - to the rest, you should save your arguments for saturday night, when you will actually have something to talk about.
