I don't mean to dampen the mood even more, but RVP did not even seem great at the start of the season but it just seemed fine because he was scoring goals.
I agree with you on RVP. Rooney is missed most at the moment.
Kent, yes agree Spurs fighting for CL place
I didn't say they have it, Jenius. I say they need it.
Wonder how we'll do against City

Kent, in this crazy League everything is possible.

I agree with that.
Treu, Henrik, but he's still been a match winner and in our current plight he'd still make a big difference even if he's not on the top of his game.
Rooney and RVP is a hard one. This season Rooney has been our biggest miss, but the RVP of last season has been an even bigger miss, in my opinion.
I know what you're saying about 2008, but in all honesty we are unlikely to recreate that side as it was facking supreme.

I dont agree with your reasoning on why Utd picked Moyes.
Good night guys. I am tired.
I think Jenius' reasoning on why we picked Moyes is pretty fair.
Man Utd picked Moyes because no-one better would take on the poisoned chalice that was taking over from Ferguson.
This summer there will be no doubt a lot more interest now Moyes has added some realism to the task.
Hmmm, DJ, I can see where you are coming from with that but I don't really agree. Big managers walk into jobs at other top European clubs knowing they have a hire and fire regime, I don't think taking over from Fergie would put them off - if it's an attractive job it will attract top managers, and the United job is an attractive job. It's just that Mourinho was never gonna be that man no matter how much United fans delude themselves.
Man Utd could have had their pick of managers in the world. All managers have certain traits. Some for attractive football, some for remoulding teams from youth squads, some for buying success and others for working on tight budgets.
Moyes was not an unknown. Man Utd knew his style of football and how he operated in the transfer market. Moyes didn't have any history of success. He didn't take low budget team to outperform themselves like Aberdeen and win the Cup winners cup and the league like Fergie did. So what other reason can there be for hiring Moyes?
Moyes is a safe pair of hands who works with tight budgets and makes his players perform to a good level. Not someone who is going to work miracles or attract the top European names. I think if you asked top European names if they would like to play for Moyes, most would say, who?
Diego Costa really has a go at his team mates. Forget the stare that Ozil gave Giroud in the Fulham game. Costa makes it very clear when he is unhappy with a team mate.
Jenius, pretty much spot on. Except Moyes in not fulfilling the skills he has.
Sometimes a manager can't make the step up to the top level and do what they did at a lower level. It's why the whole idea of buying success and it being easy to succeed with a better team is flawed because many managers have failed at the top level.
Not saying this squad is a Bayern-esque squad, however, he does seem to be struggling with the step up in expectation.
Sir Alex Ferguson was always a manager who seemingly prioritised domestic success. Moreover, many of his good signings were brought from within the Premier League and I think he did this because it gave them an experience of the league that added a sense of security to a signing- if you've seen the player perform in your league then it lessens the risk: you should know what you're getting.
I believe Ferguson looked for likewise with Moyes. I am not entirely sure even he believed he would be challenging for honours immediately, I think he was a safe appointment: someone who had done reasonably well in the Premier League and someone who knew he was doing well getting the job. That's important, because it made him much more likely to stay for longer: Mourinho could leave Man Utd because he knows he could get another club of that calibre, could Moyes?
Moyes was brought into maintain United as a Champions League side until either the Glazers could afford to invest heavily in competing at the top-end, i.e Europe, again.
Ferguson made some great signings from outwith the Premier League, but he realised that they would be willing to leave at the drop-of-a-hat. For Premier League based players- why would you leave United? I think the same applies to the manager.
Moyes is not a bad manager, nor is he anything special. However he is performing much worse than even the most optimistic of rival fan could have imagined: there's questions over the identity of his team, for me there's questions over how he's handling bigger personalities as there's stuff players like Ferdinand wouldn't have dared to say if Fergie was there. You can understand it I suppose, if you're listening to a great manager like Ferguson for so long you become used to it- all of a sudden this guy from Everton who has won nothing comes along and you have doubts about him. I do get the feeling however that Moyes has identified the problem in his squad, i.e what it lacks, but just can't sign players and a lot of that's down to the club too. Fellaini was a mistake, but I maintain that if he really did want Fellaini he would have signed him earlier in the window as it was a player he knew he could definitely get.
Milan haven't conceded yet. Yep, Allegri's gone...
If Moyes wasn't Scottish he wouldn't be your manager right now.
That doesn't mean it's the only reason he was chosen, but there is no way it would have happened without that extra variable.

He operated in the transfer market on a tight budget at Everton, that isn't the case at Utd
Nah, United definitely did not have the pick of the managers. People were ruling themselves out, no-one was up for it.
