France have only looked good in one game against a oathetic Argentina defence.

Scraped past Aussies, scraped past Peru, drew with Denmark. Struggled for goals and chances.

Argentina game has made them look loads better.

Uruguay game was pretty solid tbf today, Uruguay let themselves down though.

Spain scraped past a number of teams when they won the World Cup. So did France themselves in '98. So did Italy that needed to cheat to beat Australia in 2006. Germany struggled through much of the 2014 World Cup until the Brazil hammering. All that is important is turning up when it matters. It is very rare that any team sweeps through a tournament.

Urs Meyer former FIFA ref said Brazil could have get a pen.

Belgium were wasteful on the break too.

Not a fan of Belgium's 343 formation but fair play to Martinez for picking a formation that fits in all his best players. Even more impressed with him changing it again today to push KDB further forward.

The fact is Belgium have 3 world class CBs and no world class full backs. So 3 at the back makes sense for them.
