Roy should have took the point and focused on CR especially after the Uruguay result vs CR.
He took premier league management mentality to international football.

Not at all should be go. Why is it his fault and not the fact we have bad players. Uraguay were there for the taking but the players can't keep the ball. How is that Hodgson's fault?
It is a systemic problem within the game. And one which will take a generation to fix. I think the ground work is currently being laid but either way the premier league having so many foreign players will shackle even the good things we do.
England has made 1 final EVER. 1 final in a world cup or a euro championship. That is horrendus. All the other big european countries, spain, italy, germany. They all have made about 10 times that many finals. Even the like of Holland, underachievers, have made more finals than we have (4 times as many)

I think he is to blame for that, yes. Argentina for example have built for the last couple of years a system to get the best out of Messi.
Whereas we've gone into a tournament with our supposedly best player in Rooney and we aren't sure where he fits into the system. First too games have been trial and error. Should have been sorted long ago.

Exactly. One thing those teams have in common is the ability to CONTROL the game as in develop a system to control possession/tempo of the game and supply the forwards.
