I like inverted wingers when it suits our players - Townsend and Siggy yes, Lennon no.
Two good wingers for negating the attacking threat of Coleman/Baines though. Even if they are inverted.
Whats Mirallas's deal?
Injured?
Inverted wingers means constant checking back to put a cross in which means if the striker loses his marker initially, the defender has the chance to find him again. Dead against it

He's playing
Oh yeah
So who was the winger who played before Pineaar came back?
True enough Michael, Lennon's defensive work could be useful.
Lionel it also means more of a goal threat, works best with the fullbacks overlapping. Big games for Vert and Lennon.
Would switch Townsend and Lennon round and have Eriksen/Siggy over Holtby. Boo you AVB

This.
Edin
Barkley played didn't he?
No, Barkley has been dropped for Osman I think?
As in, they both have only played in the middle, not on the left.
comment by Bale's left it to Lamela (U17605)

That's a myth. How many goals does Walcott score from playing on the right hand side?
Think I would have gone Dembele over Paulinho. He looked knackered the other day and all the travelling with Brazil must be taking it's toll.
I understand Holtby over Eriksen for tough away games like this.
I would have gone Townsend left and Lennon right. Hate inverted wingers plus Lennon would help Walker against Baines.
Hi all.
Not the worst line up I guess. I agree about Townsend and Lennon maybe switching over to mix things up.
siggy on bench ?
wtf has lennon done to justify starting games atm
No too keen on starting Holtby or Lennon, bit lightweight in my opinion.
Exactly Chronic, especially on the left
Lionel - I see your Walcott and raise you a Townsend
I really dont get this 'Lennon has to justify' mentality. One of our best players. Last season people were saying how he may be more useful for our team than Bale.
He deserves to start as he is one of the best wingers in the league.
lennon is in no way shape or form one of our best players, and hasnt been for about 3 seasons now
He deserves to start as he is one of the best wingers in the league.

so you basically think if he is fit he should start every game and is undroppable? thats basically what you are saying by saying that he doesnt have to justify his place in the team.
i totally disagree.
hopefully today he proves me wrong, but when was the last time he actually tore a defence apart?
