I had occasion once to sit in on a press conference at the Valley when Eddie Gray and Lennie Lawrence were the managers. Couldn't understand a word Eddie Gray said.
The following day every paper attributed different quotes to him.
Sorry Eric...........your accent threw me a bit there, but i did understand the bit where you said you had occasion to sit on Eddie Gray and press Lennie Lawrence in an Alley
Obviously not a memorable fixture this one then

I was along the touch line about half way point and we hand more than 4/5ths of the ground. I had to drive back upto Widnes after the game which was very disappointing. Overall an exciting season though having got to the semis of the FA cup. Remember queuing half the night for a ticket for this game.

I went to all three games.Heartbreaking end to the season.Found a nice Indian restaurant after the game, though
Another great memory was at Leeds when Lee Bowyer played for us, every time he touched the ball the Charlton fans sang "Charlton reject" and when he scored for us the Leeds fans sang it back at them.
We won that game 4 - 2 if memory serves
And don't forget they named their club after one of our greatest central defenders...!!!
