Scholes was actually very overrated regardless of what those greats seem to say. Messi has said wonderful things on Theo Walcott before it's just personal ratings but I'd honestly say Gerrard has impressed me through his career more than Scholes!

Stevie was Liverpool's best defender, midfielder and goal-scorer for a period of time. If ever there was a 1-man team it was Gerrard at Liverpool and he led the likes of Traore, Baros, Finnan etc.. to European glory, Scholes could never be that complete and he obviously never needed to be.. but it's food for thought!

Gerrard > Scholes > Lampard

Oh and yes technically Bergkamp was very close to Zidane due to the misunderstood denial of Iniesta's talent I'll be brave for saying this but he's the closest I've seen to Zizou.

Bergkamp's first touch, eye for the pass and wonder moments were a joy, he's a great! Underrated if anything, we'd have won the CL had he travelled!

Slept and read some cracking comments, and for me as im older and seen some brilliant players in my time and in the prem era ive never had a player that has given me as much joy as scholes. A truely wonderful player who just dominated games against the greatest players if his era......now he was a top top top player!
Others like henry bergkamp ronnie giggs eric zola were just as good and a credit to the league but im biased and no one will tell me any different that scholes was the best ive seen in my life time thus far

I don't know what is so laughable to suggest Henry is better than Ronaldo. I don't agree, but it's not like it's Luis Suarez or something we are talking about here: it's Thierry facking Henry.
