Dubbed lets you arsenal fans down there is one thing sticking up for your players because you genuinely believe they are the best, but the guy calls any spurs player rubbish because they play for spurs. I can appreciate kos as a defender he is a top player but i think vertonghan is better, but its marginal and Im only choosing vert because of his versatility and ability on the ball, but can understand why arsenal fans prefer kos. Neither set of fans would swap. Id swap our 26m striker for giroud and i didn't rate giroud until this season. Id take walcott over lennon every day but no verts is better for me.

Koscielny for me easily. Vertonghen is a good defender don't get me wrong but I wouldn't swap kos or mert for him.

Vertonghen is a terrible defender IMO. Koscielny has been really good this year but seems to struggle against top teams. He looked very bad when I was at the emirates for the Chelsea game

As a neatral if I had the choice I'd have have neither.

Weighing into this late, but Koscielny is simply a fantastic defender, excellent tackler, strong positionally and the second fastest in our squad behind Theo from what I've seen. To be honest I can't think of a defender in the league I'd rather have in a 1-on-1 situation. If he were to just cut out that rash streak that has cost us a couple of times, he would almost be a perfect 'attack the ball' type centre back.

Vertonghen was one of the best defenders last season, better than Kos. However they've swapped this season and Kos has been superb whilst Vertonghen can't even convince his manager to play him at CB so he's playing LB.

I think Vermaelen vs Vertonghen is a better comparison but I wouldn't swap, I'd still expect Vertonghen to be 4th choice at Arsenal.

Arsenal fans overrate Kos, Spurs fans overrate Vert - in my opinion.

I'd say Kos is the better defender, though I do rate Vert, who is better going forward and more versatile
