Your money can't save you anymore than it can save me.
I don't mind Frank McParland being sacked cos he's like Sammy Lee to me, if not worse. Rodolfo seemed like a talented coach and had our youth playing lovely football. He seemed like hed been doing a good job, if he did get sacked then that would be quite surprising.
These rumours surfaced in the same way when Pep Segura left and that was madness. I get the feeling the Rafa remnants are being cleared out.
It's quite worrying though ARE.
Whether people liked Rafa or not, I loved him, He did totally transform and rejuvinate the youth setup.
I just hope this isn't a baby with bathwater scenarios
Gonna be hard to find better than Rodolfo

Choice what?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think Choice must start drinking early, or stop very late.
Rodolfo is Academy Director now, he won't have a direct involvement on how the U21s play. That's Alex Inglethorpe's job and he's doing an excellent one at that.
He'd be a bigger loss for me now. And if they are being turfed out then it's pretty obvious (unless you're ARE) that FSG will have somebody better in the pipeline.
Fred,
Having somebody better in the pipeline isn't all that usual when somebody who is already in place is doing a bloody good job.
I'm more interested, if it is true, in what is going on behind the scenes.
Rodolfo > inglethorpe experience wise, he was the first non catalan u18s coach for barca, a testament to his knowlege of the game
The mistake was taking Rodolfo away from the groud with the U21s and making him Director of the academy.
He's a coach and one of the best. He should be back there.
Fred
Your usual confrontational tripe I see. Can you not give Borrell a bit of credit for contributing to the makings of a fine Academy.
Also, how do you know there would be a better replacement lined up?
So far most of the good things that have come from the Academy have been Rafa's doing and that's a FAHKT!
He couldn't see a priest in a mountain of sugar
Tony Barrett just confirmed the rumours.
Really shocked - especially with Borrell.
I'm shocked and dissapointed
A very strange turn of events, given the work that Borrell has done.

Probably to get them off the wage bill. Stupid decision getting rid of Borrell
Why would you get rid of Borell? He was a key reason the academy has done well in the last few years and with his spanish roots was able to attract some of the best. Looks a silly decision thus far.
Time will tell whether it proves a shrewd decision by FSG or another example of their penny-pinching amateurism. But, considering we've had no top quality kid come through for about 15 years, I'm not too fussed.

RAP.
No idea. I was trying to work out the reasoning behind the sackings. My hunch is that it's more to do with their success rate in getting players suitable for the first team. If that's the real reason then I'm optimistic that it is the right decision.

Unbelievable. There must have been some serious issue arising: conflict with BR perhaps? Conflict with some other person/issue? Ayres? I don't think money would be the issue. The pair of them, Rodolfo in particular, commanded such respect among fans. Without explanation, and I accept that we are mere fans and shouldn't be told anything, this appears an example of our club shooting itself in the left Bol lock in seventeen easy lessons. Not a good day in the history of LFC.
