happiest GT memories:

wembley trip for me, just a fantastic day out and for a teenager who'd put up with and put down a lot of plastíc mancs and scousers throughout my school days, a taste of just how massive our club was even after years of decline.

Got us back to the Championship, and we enjoyed the performances of Steve Bull along the way. Will always be grateful to them both.

Yes gb, a very genuine bloke who was at the helm when our road to oblivion was halted and the little green shoots as they say, were developing, to that fantastic Wembley day.
All the best to GT.
Ah, that reminds me Stevie Bull on the rampage
oh yes, sweet as.

gave a whole generation of supporters something to be proud about and some amazing years. finding bully and creating a hero for supporters to get behind is something no manager has managed since - and dog knows we could do with another goal scoring hero right now to see off this season and fire us back up the champo next year.

Still the best manager we've had for many a year. To have dragged us out of the mire that we were in, was quite unbelievable. Fond memories of Bully and Mutch tearing up defences.

Good luck GT.

Just read that piece. Even as a long term Wolves supporter I hadn't realised what a tremendous career he's had (pity about the Villa episode, we're all allowed an off day). His time at Wolves bought him the most success I see, he won 45% of his games. I wonder if even Sir Alex's record at United was that good. (Can anyone find it?)

Thanks Graham.

Manager when i first climbed on board this rollercoaster.

Set us up for a generation, now this guy deserves a statue one day.

Just shows how managers can be suited to certain clubs. He was hopeless in the top division, getting the boot from Villa, but had good times with Wolves, albeit in the lower leagues. Getting relegated from the football league to non-league (with Hereford) will probably have been his personal nadir, but he seems a good fit at Shrewsbury - back where it all began.

I've awarded him 5 stars.

Very nice bloke that was - and still is - respected at Molineux by all.

Shame no one gave him another chance in the top division. Too late now I suppose.

Once you've managed the gold and black, you never go back

To the prem that is: Turner, MM, Turnip, Jones... its like a graveyard for managers lol

I wonder why the club didn't try to reappoint Turner once they knew we were playing at this level, seeing as he's been the most successful manager in the club's history at this level. Did they even consider it, I wonder?

I doubt it Bute, never go back and all that.

Much as I respect GT going back to him in this league would be like going back to mick or Dave Jones in the champo... pointless and regressive

Amen to that.

He was the right man at the right time. Got lucky with having Bully, but was astute in signing players like Floyd Streete, Gary Bellamy and co. It couldn't possibly happen again.

I thank him for those good times.

Didn't Turner sign Bully?
