But we have shown plenty of quality in our attacking play, youre mental if you dont think the same tbh.
Even todays game against soton, both teams played good football, dont just let the highlights and scorelines fool you.
No, you're dodging the point. You're saying scoring the occasional pretty goal overrides my point that Arsenal are not a good team to watch, that you're methodical, that you aim not to concede first and rely on your (numerous) attacking options to score a goal.
Remember the goal that confirmed us as champions last year? Rooney plays an absolutely perfect lofted through ball on to the foot of an onrushing van persie who volleyed it into the net. Great goal. Didn't mean we played great football all season. Or even for a majority of the season.
Pretty goals don't gloss over boring football. But you surely already know this and are in denial.
Watched the entire arsenal game today. Entertaining from Boruc, but the rest of the game was all about solidity, safety first and getting the job done
Depends on your definition of good football at the end of the day. For me bad football is hoofing it and just playing for a point with majority of players behind the ball.
Read my post, arsenal and soton both played good footie today. Dont let scorelines and highlights fool you. Im dodging nothing. You cant expect us to put 20 pass moves together every 5 minutes. Arsenal always look to play on the floor.
If this methodical, "relying on attacking players" to score goals (note the sarcasm) is not your cup of tea, then what is?
There is nothing wrong with what Arsenal are doing. It's effective, it gets the job done. What I've been pointing out this whole article is that it's an awful lot like what Man United have been doing whilst collecting trophies (and compliment if anything) but the media think the league is weak when we get the job done and when arsenal do it, it's a really strong competitive league. Surely you can see what you're doing and what we've done bare a lot of similarities? Yet the way the entire league is interpreted, in terms of strength, is dictated by who isn't top at this stage?
Answer my question please.
Ive already given you my views on the strength of the league.
My "cup of tea" is for things to be portrayed and viewed as they actually are. As I have said numerous times, United won the league last season at a canter, whilst playing football that wasn't particularly pleasing on the eye and it was very readily dismissed in most quarters as a hollow triumph achieved through being less bad than their own opponents without so much as a hint of panache.
Now Arsenal are top of a league where their opponents have exhibited the same flaws as those that United's did last season and the regular line trawled out is that it's a strong league, the "smaller" teams have got stronger, anyone can beat anyone and the league has great depth. And arsenal have played in a manner that is every bit as turgid as we were last year.
So why the difference in media portrayal?
Its frustrating that man utd didn't get a penalty against southampton that was stonewall yet a tug and arsenal get the 2nd goal to clinch it and whats worse is the 1st goal was a howler. I just don't see arsenal with there squad winning the title, if they did it would be a miracle as arsenal strikeforce is weak, midfield is just above average, defence normal standard goalkeeper playing better then other seasons but if you look at most of arsenal wins this season they have hardly peppered the opposition goal. Sooner or later they won't score enough and concede that extra odd goal and slip down the league.
I personally think man utd chelsea man city are the big 3 to watch out for.
Arsenal weren't overly impressive yesterday but they got the job done. That is a recurring theme this season. It's a good habit to have. But it's a habit that should be acknowledged in terms of it being not very different to what we were doing (and have started doing again recently) and getting slated for. I would just like to see things being called as they are and for any romanticism about how Arsenal are actually playing to be left out.
Its still early days, I will see just before the new year around the 19 game mark to get a good idea of how the season will go. Thats a good time to judge as you get your unlucky games and hopefully some lucky games. I want man utd to get to the 40 point mark after 19 games.
If we get 39 or more I will be happy as after 8 games it looked like our season was unravelling in the league near enough to no hope left point.
You still didnt really answer ny question.
If you dont find arsenals football this season "good to watch" (as you put it) then what would you prefer?
Arsenal of a few years ago was much better to be honest
I would prefer a team to play half decent football, create plenty of chances and actually get me off my seat. Right now, you're just a poor imitation of the worst champions ever (c) from last season.
Right.
Confirmation you're a bitter wum. Enjoy your game today.
Hardly a bitter wum. Just stating an opinion, and opinion based on having the misfortune of watching you play. If we were dull, methodical and a team who ground their way to victory with no hint of flair, then the very same criticisms can and will be levelled at Arsenal.
United were pretty crap to watch last season
Agree Kaisers. Still are. But that fact was very well publicised and our triumph by playing awful football at times was seen as a damming indictment of the state of the league. We only won it due to others not producing apparently, even though are points tally was very impressive.
The league last year was fairly poor in truth but it is no better this year and the team leading the way are just as hard to watch and adopt similar tactics to what we did.
Man utd were the most exciting last season. Last game of the season summed it up 5-5 lol and whats worse is at 5-2 down man utd had more then twice as many chances that were easier to score then the 5 goals we scored yet we somehow drew 5-5. So many comebacks in champions league and league it was the comeback season for half of it.
Hajfur, we were not exciting. We did what we had to do to get results and that was about it. What was basically a testimonial game at the end of the season is not a good barometer of our overall performances.

I'm sorry mate but this is one of the craziest articles i've ever read and i've done some of those crazy articles!
Firstly Arsenal have been playing some excellent stuff. So the whole 'they've been as dire as us last season' narrative is odd to say the least.
And secondly, how the hell is this season like the last? Last year it was only really every United in the race for the title but this year there are 4 or 5 teams who can really challenge and maybe if Spurs can put a run together it can be 6 teams.
This year is the most unpredictable season i can ever remember and very few teams are lying down for anyone.
I don't think you won it because others were crap, you won it because you kept getting results even if you got outplayed, overran, etc. You always found a way. You got 89 points FFS.
You won it with ease because others had poor seasons though
United only ever win the league when it's due to every other team having poor a season.
FACT!
when the city players can be bothered to turn up it can get scary for opposition
looks like they decided to turn up today
They always turn up at home though. It's away from home that they'll suffer this season.
