It should have been a red - the only reason I can think of as to why it wasn't, is because it was 8 minutes in to the game.
He does that on 60 minutes, and he's off, imo anyway
Totally agree, seems there are bad decisions like this every week
Just really poor refereeing at the moment.
Too many truly awful decisions irrespective of club allegiances.
Weekend to forget for refs
Boo fooking hoo. Do you remember when Suarez bit Ivanovic then went on and scored the equaliser? Stop fooking moaning, you lot only ever see what goes against you.
did it frustrate you in last seasons fixture when Sewerez stayed on after stamping on Mirallas and raking his studs down Distins leg ?
What part of "Too many truly awful decisions irrespective of club allegiances" do you idiots not understand? This is a criticism of referees in general.
Idiots, obviously we feel aggrieved but it was supposed to be a comment on the state of premier league refereeing.
i'm answering the OP you muppet, not a random poster
Wow... People on here just wait to have a dig. At no point did he say that it was right when Suarez stayed on in either games. He's making a general statement on refereeing. Which is dreadful.
What ever Rein, I remember the ref being condemned last season after the derby, but it wasn't for the fouls Suarez committed, it was for the disallowed goal. I've never met such a blinkered bitter set of fans.
i hate suarez as much as the next man but the OP is right - this is not to do with club alliegances, just awful refereeing ruining match after match. i am sure wes brown and gus poyet would agree this morning - it will be interesting to see if the premier league dares to bring poyet up on a charge of disrepute after his reaction to what was a shocking red card.
Is it me or are the bitters even more bitter than usual at the moment? Any article criticising a ref gets at least one bitter bringing up ancient history. You lot need to grow up

I can think of another, the obvious reason.
the OP is a RS fan who talked about the two teams they hate most, no mention of the Sunderland lad sent off in his comments

I find it funny the OP only mentioned the Rooney and the Mirallas incident and not the Brown sending off.I wonder why?
They're extremely bitter at moment. I think a bit upset they couldn't hang onto the lead.
I haven't seen the Brown incident but was shocking by all accounts. I think refs should be required to explain decisions after games, at least they can attempt to defend their decisions or concede that they got them wrong
Alice what have we to be bitter about? Winning loads of trophies whilst Everton win nothing? Think about it. Seventh and falling

I would never have imagined alas displaying his bitterness trait. a simple generalist discussion instantly brings up suarez and last year, or in the case of arouna, gerrard from about 10 years ago.
happy 18th everton...let the tradition continue

What, do you want everything remotely connected to be spelt out in BIG LETTERS so you can understand the wider implications?
Fecking muppet
I don't think referees should have to explain their decisions. It opens a can of worms like some idiot calling a manager to apologise and not others.
Just adds weight to the argument that there should be some scope for using video technology. I find the various arguments for not using the available technology more and more spurious.
The right decision is better than the catalogue of inept decisions we have to witness on a weekly basis. All the other main sports have managed to embrace the technology available, meanwhile football continues to operate in a manner which isn't fit for purpose.
