To be honest, I've always thought that Edwards is a decent enough player and has a good engine. It seems that he is cementing his place alongside McDonald. Tough on the younger players, but KJ's job this season is to get us promoted, by hook or by crook.
It'll be interesting to see what happens when we approach the end of the season with those out of contract. That includes Edwards, Doyle and a few others. I'd like to see more action with regard to Batth.
Fair play to him, has for the most part not impressed at all during his Wolves career but he has the ingredients to be a threat at this level so long may it continue.
Long term i am not really keen on him being the answer, we should be looking to improve that area maybe in the summer and i would still have picked Evans or Price ahead of him as they will be the long term future of Wolves hopefully.
It will be interesting to see if he can keep it up. The main issue with Edwards is also his fitness. He has one good game then gets injured for 6 months. If he keeps this level of performance and stays fir I'd give him a new contract. Anymore injuries and I'd let him fo.
I suspect one of price, evans and davies will soon go out on loan
Get the feeling Davis time may be up soon really, has shown flashes but after 100 games he still hasn't cemented himself into the side.
Would rather we had Edwards as an impact sub but whilst he performs as he has tonight he should keep his place and form a partnership with KMac.
Davis does seem to have dropped out of contention. Yet he was a good prospect last season.
As much as I admire Edwards' energy and commitment at this level, he has shown in the past to be just a squad player in the higher leagues.
As Mike has pointed out, I think it's his level of fitness and whether he can remain injury free, that will be the decide whether he's offered a new contract.
It would appear that tonight was a one sided affair and it could well be different come Saturday against Peterbro'
I remember all too well the last time we came up against a side that were on such a bad losing streak.
Remember Portsmouth?
Peterborough will give us a game, we are due to concede again after 3 clean sheets and they have scoring power, or at least they did.
"that will be the deciding factor"
Just goes to show what celebrating another Wolves win decides how much libation should be consumed .
Lets not pretend you need a Wolves win to have a drink

Got my ticket for Saturday. See you all there
He had a really good game in what I think was our best midfield display so far this season and I think (hope?) KJ has now found his favoured CM pairing and will stick with them for a few more games.
Edwards has certainly justified his place in the last two games and lets hope he can keep it going. Its ironic that his running for 90 minutes suggests he is probably the fittest player at the club and yet he suffers more from injuries than most. Didn't expect to ever be saying it, but worth his place in the starting line up just now and compliments McDonald well
Hes found his level just like stearman and has proven that he just doesn't have what it takes at a higher level.
Mick loved Dave.......and so does Cinci, wolfie and Perton
Like I said halfy he's found his level hes half descent at this level but there is no way he is a championship player or a pl player. If the club have the ambition to get back to the pl players like him and stearman have to be shown the door as hard as that sounds its a reality which they proved time and time again.
.....i wonder if you've said excatly the same thing about him at this level........
DE has always been a good player, but struggles with his fitness. when he has played, it usually after being injured, and then he has been struggling for match fitness. I'm sure if and when hes match fit, and free from injury we will see a few on 'ere' eat their own fist's
Mick loved him for a reason you know, and KJ must think the same !.......i think, i'll back their intuition rather than yours !
forgot to add........i can see why he frustrates though
like a modern day Geoff Thomas
'top ay we'
So that’s another name we can add to the list of people Puppet is desperate to see fail because they were signed by the wrong manager.
He has largely been very poor halfy, maybe part of that is due to his perrenial injury issues, i think we need to calm down before annointing him as proving anyone right, it has been two games.
The reality is that he got a majority of his criticism when we were in the prem, that was because he was clearly out of his depth.
Long term i really hope we are looking to improve on Edwards as it has been 6 years now and he has never consolidated his place, whether through injury or form.
For now, he is on form, so lets hope KJ keeps him there.
do you think he was out of his depth when he won us the gan v Man City with goal and a fine display ? or was it that he was fit and injury free ?
i'm playing Devils advocate of course........
....i really should proof read more
Everyone can have good games halfy, even Emile Heskey
But you have to look at a players body of work, and Edwards has not been anywhere near good enough or consistant enough.
The fact he has had two good games at league one level does not prove or justify anything, it is what it is, two good performances in the third tier of English football.
Don’t waste your virtual breathe H&H.
Many fans haven’t had much time for him in the past. The sensible ones and the ones who put Wolves fortunes ahead of their own need to be right all along will welcome the fact that Edwards has put in two good performances and hope he can maintain it (see DJ’s comment on him) while the haters will look at any reason to do him down and pray he picks up an injury or goes off the boil.
