Mad gooner. Support the lads through thick and thin and the great manager. But could do better with a better striker.

I wouldn't call GG a B or C grade fighter. He is an A class fighter. Ward is just beyond class. He is elite. Other than that your analysis is spot on.

I stated Ward struggles with a good jab, as he did with the first few rounds with AA. Groves has a quicker and better jab than AA.

Froch has a great jab, but Groves beat him in that department.

Ward likes the pull counter move, a quick piston jab and doubling or trebling up on it takes this strength away.

Groves can do this.

And Groves has excellent timing

His footwork and lateral movement is up there with Ward.

The best fighter Ward has beat is Froch and Groves was doing a better job on Froch than Ward.

Explain to me why Groves can't beat Ward using some actual boxing knowledge, not fanboysim.

Ward may have the beating of Groves but none of you have articulated why using boxing knowledge.

I do enjoy the Fanboy / Fanboyism based put downs.

It strikes me that most of the boxing fans who post on here are grown men, the boy aspect of fanboy, well it makes me a bit when I’m on the receiving end. But I love throwing the odd one out too!

The fact is that I, like most Sky pundit’s, cannot give brilliant detailed analysis of all the fights I’ve seen or indeed potential fights I’ve not seen. I’m just not that good at it.

But I loved the sport all my life and I’ve been a member of boxing Gym’s for 13 years. I’ve sparred enough rounds to possess some knowledge and have huge respect for those who take it further and fight competitively, at any level.

So I'll say again - Groves has the best skill set of any fighter at SMW bar Ward.

Groves can improve in all departments in the coming years. But for Ward right now I don't think hes got the inside game or the adapability to adjust his approach as the fight unfolds in the way that Ward can. As a result Ward stays one step ahead throughout and wins.

Personally I wouldn't call groves an A class fighter. An A class fighter would be some one like marquez, bradley, golovkin, garcia, klitchkos, sergio martinez etc.
After A class you get the elite, the fighters who don't come around too often, your mayweathers, wards, pacquiaos.

Groves has not peaked yet as well and showed he can fight a variety of different styles.
