Liverpool bid for cahill?

don't think we'd accept that, seeing as Liverpool clearly are happy to spend money on young English talent, we'd be looking for 16m + N'gog for Cahill

Would be nothing short of moronic to sell Cahill this late on in my opinion. He is an integral part of the team and his replacement will need to be a blummin good player for it not to effect us and for me we have waited till it's too late to find that player.

I agree Mr.T it would be foolish but stranger things have happened

Think thay he will go and will end up swooping for targets immediately. At this stage 18 days is plenty of time to spend the money.

The only way we would accept this is if we already had a replacement lined up. But would be a good deal, but again replacement ready.

Not sure who the replacement would be, but earlier in the summer didn't a £6 million get accepted for Johnny Evans?

Wouldn't any deal with N'Gog involved just bring down the value of the offer?

Not bad for BW! Gt a striker and money for SWP. You could then throw in a cheeky bid for Dann!

A cursory browse through the Arsenal board will confirm this... on second thoughts, save yourselves the pain.

Don't think a cheeky bid for Dann would be worth the cheekyness of it, seems destined for Arsenal now. Interestingly, if there is truth in this deal we would also pick up a Liverpool fringe player on loan.
Joe Cole anybody?

I think a cheeky Dann bid might happen.. Afc aren't gonna sign a centre back, Wenger is too stubborn for that, plus I dnt think a team with title aspirations would see a defender of a relegated team the one to improve them. Much more likely to join us like Johnson to Wolves.

Plus we would have to look at a centre back from lfc on loan first, knight and wheater isn't enough.

Heard today that Cahill only has this season left on his contract, it that true? If so, then i would say this is a good deal for Bolton!

is that true?*

"Heard today that Cahill only has this season left on his contract, it that true?"

A well known fact I thought?

posted on 13/8/11

Yeah pretty well known. If he doesn't move he will get an extension though.

Heard rumours it's 12 million plus N'Gog and Danny Wilson on loan.

I hate the way our board have seemingly dicked you about this summer.

Maybe Wenger was never really interested in the first place?

Maybe one day the truth will be gloriously revealed to us all?

Not banking on it mind.

I just checked out his profile, looks a good prospect, we'll see though. Things may be clearer when we see the team for QPR.

Could be Danny Wilson, just read it is a fringe player, could be one of several players i suppose!

I'd be very happy with this if it happens. Coyle has seemingly known all Summer that Cahill would be leaving, and surely will have a defender lined up before selling Cahill. 1 year left on his contract, and his value would plummet in January. None of us know if he would sign a contract extension either. £12m is a very fair price with 1 year on his contract. Don't know what to make of N'Gog, but can't be worse than Elmander.

If the £12m is reinvested, we can do a lot with it.

Aquilani was my first thought, however we don't need central midfielders and as i'm aware of there is going to be a cash offer to buy him some time soon.

posted on 13/8/11

Think Aquilani wants out of England all together tbh! Saying that though, he has finally been given a squad number today so he ,ay well stay at LFC!

I don't rate N'gog, but Coyle does. Word is Coyle values N'gog at £3.5 million. So if the deal values Cahill at £15.5m plus a decent player on loan for the season, we would be CRAZY not to accept the offer with one year left on Cahill's contract. Insane. Anybody who says otherwise is nuts. We would have 2 whole weeks to sign another centre back.

I'd love the makeweight loan player to be Joe Cole, but can't see him accepting the move.

We have to accept this deal.. It will be the last decent offer we get.
