But could that lack of confidence be because he senses this kind of hostility from fans? I haven't managed to get to a game this season, but I'm pretty sure it must bleed through whenever he's involved in the game. The fact is, some fans have been on his back from the get-go, purely because he's not van Persie.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I've been at the Emirates quite a bit this season and he's got a good amount of fan support. The hey jude song is sung quite often from the fans. Away from home it's the same.
Giroud's name gets chanted at the Emirates more than anyone else's. Even the game today, misses 3 sitters and the away fans started singing his name. You can't blame lack of support, he has got plenty of it.
It just disappoints me that the guy works hard, harder than most, in fact, and is already in double figures for goals - and yet some people are aiming the kind of vitriol at him that they used to reserve for the likes of Denilson and Gervinho.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't know about Bats but I, myself believe he will never be lethal. Good but not lethal.
Think about it, how many goals has he scored taking 2 or more touches? And how many has he scored when he had to go and pass defenders.
Most of the goals he score are one touch goals. If there is anything or anyone in front of him, you can be sure he will miss.

Inzaghi ripped up the record books by shinning the ball into the net a fair number of times. Ruud van Nilstelrooy even scored a fair amount with his face.

Which is why the amount of slate he gets puzzles me. Surely if he's loved so much by the people who pay craploads to watch the team every week, you'd think he had something about him?

Comparing Giroud goals scoring abilities to the like of Inzaghi and RVN?
Just a bit of perspective, IAWT.

People just want him to do well.
People just want him to do well.
No some dont...Simple.
"People just want him to do well."
People want the whole team to do well...!
I'd like to see Giroud and Walcott together in a 4-4-2, like Bergkamp and Henry but obviously with the potential to be much better.

Giroud is the best striker we have. we can't buy another one until january at least. People write a 'we need another striker' or 'giroud is not good enough article' about 5 times a day like they are saying something enlightening.
Oh and we are top of the league by the way. Most of the moaning waankers thought we would be mid table.
So you're telling me what I believe now? haha
And I don't think I've seen anyone sing his praises. So I don't know what fickleness you're on about.
What annoys me is seeing idiots like GT insult people who don't rate Giroud, thinking he is superior because he "gets behind him".
Conveniently forgetting he does the same thing to every other player apart from Giroud. Delusional hypocrite. It's a tiring act everyone's gotten tired of. He does it every day. Mug.

So we shouldn't vent our frustrations of him missing clear cut chances week in, week out?
This is a forum used to express your feelings on football, more specifically Arsenal. Don't get your obsession with trying to control what people write. If you don't like it just ignore it. It is simple.
That's what I'm saying Dubbed, you were saying he's a quality player a few weeks ago without actually believing it, you were trying to fit in. It's pretty obvious.
You say something like 'he's a good player' followed up by an endless list of things he's not good at.
Like I said I don't think you've ever really rated/liked him, so I don't think you've been fickle with him.
overall he's been good this season, why don't you write article about how awful Santi has been? Giroud is the scapegoal, simple as. I'm not trying to control what you write. I'm just telling you that you write bollox.
Cazorla? Yes. He's been off. No one has denied that. But he's a much more capable footballer and can change the game in a flash unlike the Frenchman. Naturally, people are going to be more lenient with someone like that.
Giroud has had a good season by his standard. But he still lets the team down constantly.
Can't say I'm surprised to see you backing him though. How long did it take for you to realise Gervinho was garbage. You're quite a slow person.
Scapegoat. haha
why would you be lenient with a player who is not producing what he should, and slate a player who who don't believe is capable of more anyway. Weird logic
Garcia is no mug and has used him to get Roma to the top of Serie A

If he was garbage he would be playing mid table ligue 1 or something, not destroying teams week in week out in Italy.

Because Cazorla is proven class, Giroud is proven to be mediocre.
Giroud misses tap ins on a regular occurrence. Enough said.

Typed exactly that up. Only to see you did the same. Well said.
Anyone catch the bit when he fell over trying to square the ball in to the box with his right foot? Embarrassing sight.
