I really liked it, but FIFA 11 was the best for me. Great gameplay, better graphics, I didn't play offline so I have no idea about how good/bad it was at scripting or if it existed, and just a really fun game.
Plus crossing was so OP
For career mode FIFA 11 was the worst ever
Maybe most incidents occur in the 45th and 90th because those minutes last the longest
fifa is no longer a game based on skill. it is a game based on who the game decides is going to win.
for example, you could be battering somebody, hitting the post 8 times, keeper making ridiculous saves, 25 shots to their 0..
next thing you know you concede a corner and they score a header with a 5 foot 3 left back.
OR
youre winning comfortably 3-0 and you concede a 40 yard finesse shot from Walcott with his left foot, from that moment on, every touch your player takes is a tackle, every pass you make goes to the opposition, every tackle you make ends up putting the player you tackled in a better position than he was already and every save you make falls directly into the path of their strikers for an open goal.
the game is poor, real poor.
London Dave: Yes, FIFA 11 also has good gameplay and less scripting. FIFA 13 is the worst for scripting, followed by 12.
I really wanna know why they put scripting in. I didn't believe in it myself but it's so obvious they have some sort of mechanic there that makes it artificial.
to try and make it more realistic. only problem is that it makes it complete horseshite
Greg: That about sums it up. It's great if you plan to only play a few games. You're 1-0 down and then score a great equaliser in the 90th minute. Or you're winning 3-0 but then cling on for a nail-biting 3-2 win.
However, the problem is when you play lots of games (as most people do) and this sort of thing happens almost every game. It then goes from being exciting to completely pointless and predictable.
Greg not to mention the inch perfect blind clearances, hard shots having almost no rebound off a block yet the AI makes a soft short pass and the ball flies 30 yrds straight to the feet of their teammate, the nearly doubled pace of the entire team you're facing while sprint won't work until it is determined the opposition will reach the ball first, or your teammates ignoring a loose ball(and the inability to switch to that player) that is maybe 3-6 ft from them while the opposition players sprint to the ball immediately.
Scripting is just a cheap cover up for an unbalanced game.
God I hate FIFA. Why can't somebody just make a proper football game?

I agree, maybe one or two of those games a season would be good but when you have to deal with it every match it becomes boring and puts me in a really bad mood for a few hours.

I haven't played FIFA 14 since I bought it now which was a week after it was released.
As bad and glitchy/buggy as FIFA 13 was, I put endless hours into that game because it was more enjoyable and more matches ended how they should have done rather than how FIFA wanted it to end.

Can't remember if it happened on FIFA 12, FIFA 13 it was clear and FIFA 14 it's so scripted you'd think those involved would be nominated for an Oscar. I've been playing FIFA since the first one came out in 94 or whatever year it was, and this is the first one I've been so disappointed in that I've not played it in over a month and offered to give it away to a friend for free
as recall problem with FIFA 09 was it was way too easy, even with diffculty turned up to max it wasn't difficult to hit the computer for half a dozen
career mode was broken too, player growth was ridiculous. had to abandon my St Etiene one, Bafetimbi Gomis went up from mid 80s to about 97 after about 2 seasons and i hit about 100 goals in 2 seasons with him
You could assign player growth points that season to improve players in the areas you wanted. I remember one goal I scored where Adebayor headed it on for himself and ran onto it
