We need to get full points as thats hte only way to limit our early season form damage.
I can't see anyone in the PL taking full points from these next 5 games. It just isn't going to happen with so many games in a small space of time. It tests the limits of your squad though I suppose.
the only way we could win is if we beat arsenal, liverpool, city and chelsea... imho.... Not impossible, but unlikely.
I think we will be very close to the top 4 by Jan 1st though though
United have a very good chance of picking up maximum points in the next 5 league fixtures. I still think it's very dangerous to write them off completely.
In fact, I'll state that they may only be 3 points off the top come the end of the Festive period.
Theres a way to go yet, and the top of the table is tight.
I think if United lose a couple or more games between now and the end of the season, they might have to forget about retaining their title, but top 4 is more that achievable.
Unless you have been in a genuine title race, you'd know not to right of teams that have been there and done it. It's why Mourinho still says not to write Manchester United. I am not by ancy chance saying we are wining it, we still have to catch not one, but 6 teams, but if anyone thinks it's laughable that we're still title challengers, needs to calm down.
Arsenal fans thought they had the league in the bag, but even with their brilliant start, Liverpool are sitting top.
Then your only 5 behind so your saying that the team in 4th (at that time) will have won so many games as well. Think your underestimating just how tough this Christmas period will be and don't be surprised if you do drop points to someone you don't expect to.
Jlou, the title is out of our hands already. Lost far too many games and we're too down the table. Focus is hopefully on a CL spot now, would love to finish 3rd
The Hull and Norwich away games being two days apart is a slight worry for me but we really need a maximum return over this Christmas period and I think we can get a maximum return.
Arab, go eff yourself. Complete coward of a person.
We've had many false dawns this season so it's too early to say what will happen with us over this festive period.
In past seasons it's been one of our strongest periods in the season, however, referring to the false dawns we've had this season, we could have a collapse over a couple of games in Dec/Jan after going on a mini run.
We need to sustain our winning runs and we're yet to do that.
Beating Hull and Norwich is a must as we need to pull ourselves back into that pack at the top. I'm not thinking about the title now, getting into that top pack, which is very tight, is our main aim over the next month.
But yeah our target for this season has to be finishing in the top 4 and winning a cup I can't see us winning the title this season.
if arsenal draw against chelsea we will be 8 points off top spot with 21 games to go. We were 8 points clear with 6 games to go and f'd it up. What people don't get is its not the teams ahead but there are a lot of fuxtures were teams above us will play each including this festive period.
If man utd can get 9 points from next 3 league games we will be in good shape. Who would have thought liverpool being top at chrustmas unless arsenal win or chelsea hammer arsenal.

I'm only being realistic, feck me
United will finish 2nd or 3rd
can't see past city this year even with their bad start
they're starting to look very menacing and the side seems more settled

I suspect City will pull away, with maybe Chelsea hanging on to their coat tails for a time, but the other two champions league spots are well up for grabs.
man city were woeful today got lucky. Man utd put a near virtuoso performance on the other hand. Last 2 league games man utd could have easily hit double figures.

This is what I mean, pull them 2 games a month back, everyone would expect 6 points from 6 and you'd probably have had that but for some reason, this Christmas hoo-doo may mean that it could be 4 points or maybe even as low as 3! But it shouldn't be any lower than that.
City's away form is still a bit dodgy at times though, it's the most unpredictable title race for decades
United are 8 points off of the top. We dropped 10 points in the space of four games in matches where we should be at least getting 6 points.
This has been our problem. The odd defeat now and then against teams that are tough teams and the odd shock is forgivable, it's these collapses in a short space of time that is costing us big time and very un-United like.
We aren't responding well to dropping points, something that has always been our strong point.
It's why thinking about the title is pointless at this stage, for me, as it's perfectly feasible that were we to get back in the running we'll lose and then have a slump which sees us miles behind again, such has been the mentality of the team this season.

Yeah I get what you mean I think we will win away to Hull but could easily come unstuck two days later at norwich.
Hmm, West Ham and Villa aren't games we should be losing anyway.
We've struggled versus any half decent opposition so lets not get carried away, one game at a time.
We have an extra 2 hours and 15 minutes recovery time than C.Palace
Feel fro west hame... 3pm kick off on 26th and 12.45pm kickoff on 28th, not even 48 hours!!!!
It would be daft to completely write off United for the title. True they're 8 points off the top but you because it's so tight at the top you only have to go on a run of form when you win something like 5 out of 6 and you'll be right up there. I think the title is City's but I wouldn't rule United out just yet.
