Wenger deserves nothing but respect to be honest

If not us:

first choice: Any of the Cockney clubs

Second choice: Everton (if you can include them)

3rd Choice: City. Only on 3 afterall.

I'd prefer a team of terrorists captained by Jimmy Saville and managed by Hitler to win the PL before the bin dippppers though.

I respect him, but I certainly don't like him.

The title is gone, it's not so much the points difference but the margin for error is very very tight, we can afford to lose one, maybe two more games if we're going to win the league.

Personally, top four and a trophy is the target for United now. Moyes has done really well to navigate the Champions League group at his first attempt and we should have enough to at least make the quarters, then who knows from there? (we'll probably get knocked out but what ever).

....

Got nothing against him really, seems like a decent bloke. He just sticks up for his club and players like Fergie used to.

No its not purely because of that. I also like Pellegrini, Kompnay, Yaya and Aguero. I think they're excellent at their jobs and are somehow likeable despite the rivalry.

----------------------------------------

Liking individual players from City shouldn't supersede our gross rivalry with them though, not in my opinion anyway. Apart from Liverpool, City are the team I least want to win the league and I've got to say I'm surprised some United fans disagree.
----------------

Until recently our rivalry with City has only been based on geography though. I'm 27 and so grew up disliking Liverpool, Arsenal and then Chelsea. I always thought Derby day was special and loved beating them but it had no real relevence back then as City weren't rivals for silverware.

I don't mind Wenger either, he just moans way too much when things don't go his way. But if anyone deserves the PL it's him, especially with the shít he's gone through the last 8 years.

Well yeah but now the rivalry does have some very real relevance in that City (who are our derby rivals) are now threatening to win multiple titles.

They're supposed to be the club we hate the most, but Liverpool win that one. And now they're proper footballing rivals too. With that considered I am quite shocked that some reds would rather they won the league than Arsenal.

my order of preferance at the moment for teams capable of but who I dont want winning the pl would be.

liverpool
arsenal
chelsea
city

I know that may sound strange but city have a lot of ground to make up on utd in the trophys stakes so for me city is the lesser of the 4 evils.

So do Arsenal and Chelsea. And thinking of it long-term I think City are definitely the team most likely to have sustained success capable of competing with us.

I had Utd down for top 3 in August, like many others perhaps.

Whilst there's been enough to suggest that might be a struggle so far, I still believe you'll rally along and pick up enough points to do so.

It's difficult to look past City despite their own defensive issues for the league though. Away form seems to be clicking and they can simply out score anyone in the division. In fact they will probably go past 100 for the season at this rate.

I believe both us and Everton will eventually fall back and miss out on top 4. Although it's refreshing to see us both competing near the top in December. Good for the league as well in my opinion. Maybe I'm simply a little wary at this stage but I'm not totally convinced yet. Lovely so far though.

That said the last time we were top on the 25th we finished second. I'd quietly take that right now and move on!

I actually think i would cry i Liverpool won the league, in football terms, i hate them, i really do hate them.

I think the reason some United supporters wouldn't want Arsenal to win it is because of their fans.

They're a different breed of person never mind football fan. Piers Morgan is probably one of the more level headed Gooners........and that's saying something.

I hear you conor but for some reason atm city dont annoy me as much as the other 3. Maybe its because they appear so much stronger and powerful than utd during this transition period that I have accepted for now they are better than us this season and seem the team most likely and most deserving of the title at present.

Pains me to say but liverpool do have an excellent chance to win it this season. If fsg back rogers during the transfer window with whatever he needs and suarez stays fit and in this form liverpool wont be far away at all.

Wouldn't mind Chelsea winning it - I've never really felt much of a rivalry with them.

I normally wouldn't mind Arsenal winning it but I have a £50 bet on with an Arsenal fan that we'd finish above them. Plus I bet my account on here that we'd finish above them . So wouldn't really want them winning tbh.

City, I wouldn't like it. But they won it a couple of years ago - this time round won't hurt as much.

Liverpool, just no. It's unthinkable.

Be interesting to see what happens. BOTH Pelligrini and Jose can't win it. So I wonder if either of them will get the chop if they fail?

----------------------------------------

And that was my original point. It genuinely seems to me like a lot of United fans on here just don't want the backlash from Arsenal fans. But it's an internet forum, what happens on here doesn't bother me too much.

I know its a bit of a cliche, but we have to live and work with City fans every day. It was bad enough last time that I don't want it to happen again. Unfortunately not all City fans are like melton.

However, I am somewhat resigned to the idea of City winning it.

Man utd will win it, defending champions will come back fighting. No need to worry who else will win it. Man utd have a chance that any other season it would be laughable at this stage of the season to call us title contenders but another 4 or 5 wins in a row in the league perfectly doable man utd all of a sudden could be one of the favourites.

would say they are both safe to be honest. Especially Pellegrini making the break through in europe.
