I think this team has goals in it.
----------------------------------------------
We have seen all season that is doesn't MR C, our goal to chance conversion rate must be around 11% this season.
flash...........nail hit firmly on head mate
Ever since Barca came along it's like they are the feckin iPad of football and everyone wants one.....
Entertaining and winning football are great. But they don't always go hand in hand
------------------------
well, they don't always go hand in hand, but it is very achievable.
Bayern have done it,
Barca have done it,
Milan under Carlo did it,
Ajax did it with their trademark total football,
Madrid did it, and the list goes on.
One thing I will agree with some posters on here, is to give Jose time to turn things around.
when I say 'turn things around' I don't mean just winning matches, but playing decent footie as well.
If winning was the ultimate objective, why was he sacked in the first place, despite winning several trophies?
Playing good football, is as important as winning matches and trophies.
Biggish it's as if no one has an eye for goal in our team anymore apart from lampard.

you are spot on, but none of these teams were formed over night and in most cases did not have a revolving Managerial door.
They have an eye for goal just not the feet for it

Did they do it in half a season under one manager? That's kinda of the point here!

-------------------------------------------------------------
Because Roman thought he could buy the combination of winning football and high quality football of the shelf...................i just hope after 6 years of total failure with this strategy he realises it can't.

You have a point, but guess what?
Bayern have something to say about doing it under half a season, or even less.
Yes, Bayern won the CL playing some decent footie, but with pep...they raised the bar to another level, and also won the super Cup.
So, Bayern could be used as a case study in this matter.
Jose gave Bayern's Pup a scare
Bayern won the treble last season, I have only watched them a few times this season and am in no position to have an opinion whether they have raised the bar or not this season, although until we went down to 10 men in the Super cup final we matched them toe to toe in that game.
Jose gave Bayern's Pup a scare
----------------
A scare...yes, but they deservedly won.
We played counter-attacking football at best.
It backfired!
Pep takes over a team that has won the treble
Jose takes over a team who have not even been titlae contenders and have been scrapping for 4th place in the previous 2 seasons.......
I see no relevant case study tbh
The Brazil team of 1970 is regraded as one of the best ever of all time, care to guess what style of football they played?
It backfired!
Ramires' brain ?
Bayern's football backfired in the CL final, sh-t happens
The Brazil team of 1970 is regraded as one of the best ever of all time, care to guess what style of football they played?
---------------------
That was then, this is now!
Recreate that same Brazil team in this era, and watch them get annihilated.
Football has evolved...
Football has evolved...
Ball is still round
That may well be true, but the style of counter attack football is regarded my many as attractive to watch and we have seen that even in the modern era it still works
Ball is still round
-------------
Ball is no more brown in colour, style of play have changed.
Next....
Objective.
Score more than them.
Still same

The type of football one likes is subjective at the end of the day, personally I don't find Arsenal entertaining to watch, i find them to be very once paced and very predictable.
We have not been good to watch for some time now, mainly because we play at such a slow tempo in out build up play.................but personally i would rather us become a fantastic counter attack side than a good tipy tappy triangle making team like Arsenal.
