it would take us or Liverpool to have a major collapse for Utd to get into the top 4.

WengersNearlyMen

What are you talking about???? Liverpool are ONLY 2 points ahead with a trip to Stamford Bridge coming up for good measure.
Your knowledge of football is a joke, I think United are right in the mix and will be in the top 4 by mid January.
To dismiss them and say one or two teams will need a major collapse is not good football knowledge.

I don't particularly like the arrogant Mancs but the old say goes " Write UNITED off at you peril"

ive already wrot them off
they are NOT the same without SAF never will be

Dangerous to discount a team with that history and navigation to get through the business end of the season.
They'll be top3 come what May, and I'm willing to put money on it.

You boy's on the other hand have dropped a lot of points this festive period. Not sure if the pressure's taking it's thole. Best of luck, rather you boys get in the mix then others.

but that was when Fergie was there, Moyes is a different kettle of fish

I've had United down for 2nd for weeks now

It was fun and all to laugh at their start but the points gap was never really that large and they historically start slow

Personnel's still the same, those players have won a lot. Never underestimate a footballer, because they make or break a manager.

its not only us they've got to overhaul its Lfc,City,Cfc and Efc

Mate, all those teams will drop points as well.
I personally think 76 78 Points will win you the league this season.

City look the strongest, no doubt about it. But they have one hell of an AWAY FIXTURE list to come the second half of the season.

Utd will NOT win the league end of.

Agree they probably won't win it, but they will be top3 by the end of the season. That I'm certain off.

Man City's title to lose is what I'm thinking.

You can;t be certain of that at all. Did you watch them today? They were awful.

A lot depends on January transfers but Utd are away Newcastle, Everton, Southampton, Arsenal and Chelsea and have a poor record against Top ten teams this season. If they can win those then they'll deserve to be up there but I'm not sure they will.

All tough fixtures for them, but all the contenders have HARD fixtures. It' s the way the league is this season. It's going to the wire, but in terms of squads it's Arsenal, Chelsea, United and City that will hit the top4 spots with Pool there purely on no European distractions.

The rest are irrelevant as far as making a position change.
Top 5 will be those teams above.

I'm not sure you know what you're talking about I'm afraid. Anyway, Liverpool's form at home is excellent and has been all of 2013. Most of LFC's fixtures that are hard on paper are at Anfield. Everton too are in very good form and then you have Newcastle.

All of these teams are playing better football, scoring more goals and are picking up points. I personally think that it is quite possible that LFC maintain that form as do Everton who have lost only two games this season both of which were very close. I think it also possible that Utd keep playing quite poorly.

Four wins against Hull, Norwich, Stoke and West Ham does not really change that for me and given that Utd have games in January on the back of 9 in December I may well be proved right.

United will be right up there at the expense of one of the London clubs come what May. Liverpool will be right in the mix, simply because there is no EUROPEAN distractions to keep them occupied with.
One of the London clubs will drop out, it will be interesting.

"simply because there is no EUROPEAN distractions "

what a pile of rubbish

the quality of football is 90% of it

maybe (and only maybe) come later in the season will that have any sort of impact

Liverpool are a great watch for the neutrals, and in Rogers they have a manager that will take them forward for the future.
Add those factors to no European distractions then Liverpool are certainly in the mix.
My main point was that all the other contenders have the Champions league as a major distraction and it will be for them.
