Why do manager's get rated out of sympothy?

I am not sure how people expected Cardiff to do.

They had a decent Championship squad. If they hasn't spent a fortune on it they most definitely would have dropped.

As it is, they are outside the drop zone, which is all anyone could reasonably expect.

Mackay got them out of the Championship which no-one else had ever managed.

He is a young manager. It's easy to look at Bruce or Pulis and say they are doing much better, but they have both been managing for ages.

People have unrealistic expectations of what £50m gets. All it did was make Cardiff competitive, which they are.

Mackay didn't deserve the sack and it's madness to think otherwise.

Doesn't mean he is a great manager but I haven't seen anyone suggesting he is.

He might develop into one with experience though.

maybe you should learn to use your brain and think about whats written in a way differently to how your tunnel vision mind works, people praise others when bad stuff happens to them regardless to the fact of whether they knew them or cared about them at all, that's what my comment meant, im sure most people understood that, maybe that's why your the only person moaning about it

Cardiff have had the thick end of £150mil of Tans money since he bought them.
Where were Cardiff prior to this?
They've enjoyed the good times and are still in a better position than they ever have been. Malky's a good Championship manager but 'his' Prem team is struggling.
What would you do had you invested £150mil?

I don't like Tan but equally I don't blame him.

Please point out where he has spent £150m of his money.

He hasn't.

Do your own homework bud, that's what Cardiff has cost Tan.

oh jesus Christ you are thick aren't you, i was comparing the sympathy that humans have for people they don't know when bad stuff happens to them, it doesn't matter about the comparison, there both just humans.

TUX - I don't know where the 150m came from but assuming its true then the investment is in the club as a whole. I'm going to have a guess that Cardiff are worth much more now then when he took them over, part of his investment will be repaid in asset value.

He has the right to fire obviously. The point of the article however was that Malky was overrated due to sympathy, I don't think that's true due to his achievements to date.

Maybe Tan's actions will be vindicated like at Southampton, maybe it'll prove idiotic like at Blackburn. Either way, big gamble and probably an unnecessary one.

Yeah repeating your point doesn't prove anything.

Cardiff were knocking on the door of the PL when he took over. A bit more money just got them over the line and have a chance of survival, and they remain out of the drop zone and haven't been it all season.

I don't give a crap about Tan. Sacking Mackay was not a fair decision based on football.

He had achieved promotion, a cup final, and they were never in the relegation zone.

You've said it there bud. They were already knocking on the door yet it took Malky another season.

The only thing i'll repeat is do your homework.

It took him another season because they got to a cup final, one that I am sure Cardiff fans will never forget.

By your weird logic, basically the whole of the bottom half should sack their managers, and half the top half too.

I completely agree 'bud'
I've had many fantastic days at Wembley (more than most in the past 20yrs I guess?) but tell that to the owner.

The owner was going to get rid of Malky by any means possible. Quoting the so-called overspend and saying he would have no money in Jan was ridiculous. How can he blame the Manager, he does not control the funds but was still sacked. Making the owners statements even more stupid, he now comes out and says substantial funds are available for the new manager in Jan. Laughable.
