Midfield is the bigger concern.

10 goals between all of them including the wingers.

Yaya Toure has 12 all by himself.

Yes, it's great to buy
young players but sometimes you need a
readymade fix.

Not long ago you said exactly opposite of this robb

we also only have 1 tactic, get the ball out wide and hope the winger puts a good cross in, it hasnt worked all season and yet we still persist with it, we'd have been better with a 1 legged goat at RW than Valencia last night

I did say IMO best possible signings, not ones that I realistically believe we will sign so i'm not too sure about mocking comments about signing messi, ronaldo and ibra........

IMO the most pressing positions we need to address are the left back and another creative attacking midfielde. A box to box midfielder would be great, someone in the mould of Vidal, not exactly him, but that can happen in the summer.

Right now bringing in a long term replacement for Evra would be a mistake because the mistakes are happening NOW.
============================================

there are still players who are better than Evra who are young enough to be here long term aswell and they'll also be cheaper than Baines will be
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Not really. Even if Shaw were to come (Chelsea bound IMO) he's not better than Baines now. Coentrao is the great unknown. Do we really want to take a risk on a player who has never played one game in the PL to come in and fix such an urgent problem?

Moyes' biggest source of creativity in his system is attacking fullbacks. Bringing in Baines will give us more of a weapon going forward which in turn will take a lot of pressure off our CM.

priority postions

1)winger(possibly 2)
2) CM (definitely 2)
3) LB (also 2 because neither are good enough)

Do we trust Moyes to do so? Look what Rafa did to Liverpool.

Not really.
==========

well there are, and PL experience isnt the be all and end all, we've seen that with our dealing this summer with 'he who shall not be named' being one of the most experienced PL players

If we are talking about he whole squad we need 3 midfielders, and a centre half too. A proper understudy to Rafael wouldnt hurt.

Nothing to suggest we will sign anybody, and that's what we should expect.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Spot on, I wouldn't be surprised at all if this were the case. Summer will be when we do some business, whether it'll be good business remains to be seen (I doubt that too, to be honest)

Mex.

Baines, Cabaye and Salah would be 3 realistic and pretty affordable signings.

£60 million for the 3 and all 3 clubs would probably do business.

Salah is more frustrating than Nani, ive seen him a few times for Egypt and his philosophy is "why beat a man once when you can try and beat him 6 times" he'll have everyone tearing their hair out at him in no time

Goalscoring/creative CM is a must. Our midfield players simply don't score goals.

A consistent winger.

A left back.

A centre half.

In that order or priority.

doubt we will spend over 50mill

Coentrao on loan would be a good deal
saves money and we could buy him in the summer if he is a success

I have no faith in moyes whatsoever, but i support him and the team whatever happens. I like the bloke but the player are just running around with no clue what they are doing. Theres no fight or effort at all and when he was at everton, they really tackled harryid and pressed......united under moyes do none if this hence why we are easy score against and 7th!

============================================

they haven't done for a decade though SE85, our goals have always come from our forwards and wingers, our creativity comes from out wide, which IMO is why we need a winger as no1 priority, trust me we need 2 CM's aswell but for me a winger is no1

That would be bad business for us though, we'd be better off spending £70m on Di Maria and Vidal tbh.

60m is a lot of money to spend on 3 good players, id much rather spend it on 1 or 2 world class players

I agree, yesterday our problem was more the wingers than the midfield. Okay they created nothing and didn't do much to stop the counter attacks, but that wouldn't have mattered had a good crosses of the ball been in Valencia's place.

Rakitic is an option. 18 months left on his deal and seems to be stalling over new deal. Not cup tied either.

He's a goalscoring central midfielder too.

He'd be gettable in this window.

Varela is a right back.

My point exactly, we don't need anymore decent players, we ones who are going to make a difference to the first team and how we play.

Thought he played from wide/ behind the striker?
