He's only been at the club for about 3 months, give the guy a break FFS!

he's injured for a while, hopefully we'll have signed a CM by the time he's back and he;ll be consigned to cameo appearances off the bench until we can sell him in the summer

He's not a flop at all mate. He hasn't had the best start but has been injured for half the season.

If Fellaini is a flop signing then so is Kagawa by that logic.

Diggler if in a few seasons time Fellaini has become a good player for us I'm going to look for this Article and point out your first sentence to you

not looking good is it but i still think its too early to label him a flop. He deserves at least a third of the time anderson has been given before the final judgement

He's not had what he - or any of us - would consider an ideal start. However, neither did Vidic or Evra (or many others).

What worries me about Fellaini is that he hasn't had a single decent performance, or done a single thing that anyone could get excited about. I just haven't seen any potential in his appearances thus far.

That being said, I want to make 2 observations:

1) It is far too early to completely write him off. He was a good player for Everton, is a Belgium international and I don't believe that a player turns poor overnight.

2) Regardless of his poor performances in CM, under no circumstances would I welcome the hoofball approach implied in the OP.

Fellaini has played well.

In games against Leverkusen, Sociedad, Everton and Fulham he was decent.

Yes, he had a couple of stinkers but EVERY player can say that this season (bar DDG)

I mean to say, he has had some good games. Not that he's been a roaring success so far.

Leverkusen H- tick VG

Soceidad A- decent, did enough

Fulham A- 2nd half we were woeful after an excellent 1st half, then Clevs(i think) had to go off

Everton- poor and indisciplined, dont agree(and wont ever agree on this performance, he was cack, not quite as cack as some others e.g Welbeck)

I meant biggest because of his height alright.

Seriously though, in every game I have watched him he has been pretty awful, his passing isn't great, attackers skip round him with ease, he just looks like he can't be àrsed.

Whether we agree or not on the Everton game I was just replying to French's claim that he hasn't had a decent game for us yet

Also, Kagawa hasn't been great either, considering how good he looked at Dortmund. He just reminds me of a slightly more skilful Park, still gets pushed off the ball way too easily.

For that price Robb I would expect more than "decent" in a couple of games.

everton are playing much better style of football without him. you don't want to start hoofing the ball up to him, but this is what he does best.

But we are hoofing it anyway, why not give ourselves a chance.

Fellaini is not united quality. Never is, never will be. He will never cement a place in that centre midfield position. He can't pass, gets out jumped by 5 ft guys, the guy is slower than Carrick, only with no positional sense.

its not the fact he's a bad player, he's not, he just does not suit the role we want him to play, and united (hopefully) will never play the system and type of football to get the best out of him, i was against the signing before it happened because of this very reason, at the right club, he;ll have a brilliant career, but IMO it wont be at united

I think you'll find he can.

He's barely played though. I think it's 7 starts in total and with an injury bugging him.

Hopefully he comes back fresh in a few weeks injury free and he can start to build up some goodwill.
