For me and many other indian fans, India is still the best and they are going to come back even stronger after these series. Actually we might see some great innings at the Oval which will be remembered for years. I think viru, sachin, dravid, dhoni will all fire and make oval to a circle.
===========================

Its a good thing i dont care about what you and other Indian fans think.

Also it's not the defeat, its the the manner in which india were defeated or humiliated i should say that is different to Aus losing 2-1 to you.

I am a realist and not a fantasist and to be honest this team is something special, i'm not going to praise them for something that they havn't achieved (a win in the Oval test) but what they have done is consistently outplayed india in all departments, so much so you India looked like amateurs i felt onnly piy for them.

virudagreat- i saw an indian got nicked on sky news for having a cricket bat on the street in southall last week, you might as well give him some pads and gloves and point in the direction of the oval

Im know-it-all.. And i got most things right anyway for SA i dont get this great batting line up mystery. They have some great players YES.But the Likes of Smith are on a downward sprial..
Given the right conditions next summer SA will also struggle..
Morkel is good in SA conditions but if he dont hit the right lenght in England he will be easily left on length.. Steyn is the only dangerman in the bowling line up. And like most teams in the world now they dont have any decent spinner.
Its a shame its only a 3 match series next summer. As weather will come into the equation and will probably rob a team of a winning position..

Why have England become number one? its simple the opposition cant get themselfs into a winning position due to being unable to take 20 wickets quick enough and cheaply enough. That puts the opposition under alot of pressure when they bat..

Listen I havent mentioned anything bad about england, I have actually congratulated them and also said that they outplayed us. Yes it is true that south africa are as strong, if not better than your team.
This article does mention england, but not in a bad way so I dont know why england fans are just being fanatics. And all what I have mentioned about is how india will come back. it doesnt take anything away from what england have done in the past or even what they would do in the oval test

@know it. The south africa team do have imran tahir. He could be a suprise package for your team. About morne morkel. He is pretty much like broad. If he hits the right length then he will be as good as him. And the only disadvantage your team will have is that your tailenders wouldnt be allowed to score as many runs as india have let them score.

posted on 14/8/11

Tahir? he will be flop.. As for Broad and Morkel there is no comparison..Broad got his wickets from pitching the ball up. Morkel gets most of his wickets when the batsmen is on the back foot and gloves the ball.. That wont be an issue in England. ofcourse he will get wickets but he wont be lethal like he is in South African conditions..

As for England having tail enders.. the likes of Bresnan are well capable of scoring 50s and 100s so is Broad and Swann is also capable.. This is not because the opponents have allowed it. Its simply because they are talented with the bat aswell..

posted on 14/8/11

bresnan is talented, but I dont know about broad. anyway will wait to see how they play.

How could you state "India is still the best" after it was outplayed so comprehensively in three consecutive tests? As stated by another person on this thread, it's not because India lost, it's how they lost.

posted on 14/8/11

The test series you are banging on about was decided by a distinctly dodgy "hattrick" given by home umpires which was one of the catalysts for the introduction of neutral umpires. Secondly a marginal 2-1 victory at home is not the same as destroying a team 3-0 at home with the margin of victory being at least 200 runs in each test.

India were never the best team in the world, it was just a quirk os the scheduling that enabled India to stay top of the pile.

You haven't really congratulated England though, you're saying "enjoy it while it lasts, because SA are probably better and India are still number 1 anyway..."

Neither of which are true. I see no reason why England won't dominate for a long time. Nothing logical suggests otherwise.

virudagreat,

England will still be dominating the test arena when you learn the importance of grammar, possibly even beyond.

The end of the humiliation is only 8 days away. Until then, be strong

India are the best in my eyes, that doesnt mean they have to be no. 1. If I remeber England fans have always been saying they are no. 1 well before this series. So I have the right to say that. And about the oval test I think we will draw it if not win

posted on 14/8/11

You fool, we claimed to be no. 1 because we clearly were and we proved it by beating india the no.1 ranked team at the time, now you doing the same is an act of foolishness as you have had the chance and got spanked by what in your opinion is the 2nd best team in the world. Does this make any sense to you or should i draw you a diagram yaar?

Duncan you scottish convict , why does that not work both ways ? England reached no.1 despite not playing a single series in the subcon. They havent won there since 2000-01.

Firstly, very classy. Secondly they did play away against SA and Aus in the last few years, losing to neither.

How on earth can India win the last test? You don't have a single bowler who can actually bowl?
Your team is lazy, underprepared, and rather pathetic.
4:0 its our time.

Duncan, ignore Pox, he is a moron.

"Anyway congrats to england for their number one status, and to be honest I can see South africa snatching that very soon. So enjoy as much as you can."

Are you actually going to pretend that this isn't a bitter reaction to India's humiliation?
