World's most one sided rivalry.
Well as an English man Kash you should feel something for your mother country? lets hear something hmmm
Back to cricket. Australia will lose Rodgers/Harris/ and Haddin for the next ashes.. England will improve an will win at home.
"Australia will lose Rodgers/Harris/ and Haddin" true England but from this side, England will have to replace Carberry, find a number 3, replace KP and Bell, find a keeper, a spinner and a couple of seamers to support Broad and Stokes, once they've done that, you'll have a decent team
No Bell and Kp will be there.. Prior will get back to old self. and we have root who will open and be more experienced by then..Borthwick is a prospect and will have a few tests under his belt.. and Australia will be under just as much pressure as we are in Australia.. Once a team gets on a roll they will hammer the opposition.. Pattinson and starc do not bowl as accurate has harris.. Johnson will not get the bounce
sounds like you've been on the barley wine all night mate. In 18 months, KP will in retired in SA, Bell will be a club professional somewhere, Anderson will be on the after dinner speakers circiut and Bothwick . Were you asleep when Prior was batting or keeping? Past it mate, he'll be with Bumble in the commentary box
Anderson will still be bowling for England.. If Kp has any balls he will play for another 2 years.. Bell will still be playing to..
cant wait for England to return the favour.. And we wont hear not even a little sound from you aussies.
Well, all I can do is refer to the OP and claim bragging rights bestowed upon us by a 5-0 victory. ATM, England are pants
Not sure how good the Aussies are either, that's how poor England were. The Saffers Aussie series next month will tell us a lot about the Australians.
Before next ashes, England play against the following in tests
Lanka
India
West Indies
New Zealand
All poor and weak bowling attacks. They'll learn F all.
Good point Afridi, this is not even a great Aussie team, which makes England completely pants. But regardless of the upcoming saffers series, once again, I refer to the OP. No matter where Aus or Eng are in the world rankings, we will always have a great rivalry with full bragging rights attached.
In regards, saffers and India, by this time next year, we will know a lot more with India in oz next year
what No Pakistan
until when - 2016?
that's 6+ years - Maybe the Ashes series should be played once every 3 years & in same country once every 6 years
So between 2010-2016 - England will have played India, Lanka, Windies, Aus, Kiwis, Saffas more than once in Test series in England.
I was going to talk about swann and gaps to fill and English batsmen and bounce but all I'll sat is that you are seriously deluded if u think England will be Australia 5-0. Mostly because of the weather.
Grande,
No Pakistan until 2016. ECB waiting for Amir's ban to be completed and Ajmal to cross his 38th birthday
Ozzie,
Agree with you on India, they have two tough away series this year. But my mind us made up in Saffers- they are currently the best by a mile.
Hardly by a mile, they're not great either. Steyn and philander are world class, an and Ab and amla too. Smith is good but not great. Last few series with Australia have been very tight, shoulda beat them at home last time and haven't lost in sa since readmission. Expect them to beat us but this Australia team looks much improved under Lehman.
Duncan,
Definately agree with Aussies having improved massively. But you've just mentioned 5 Saffers players there, who are most often than not consistent. Add Morkel into the equation and dumm and you have a solid foundation.
Johnson aside, I don't see your bowlers troubling them. The Aussie batting is fragile too, often relying on 1 or 2 players to save the day. Will be interesting watch regardless
Harris is a class bowler and will love SA conditions.
Siddle is the workhorse and Lyon is a better spinner than anyone SA can bring in. I think the Aussie edge that bowling department if Johnson proves he can produce series after series.
I'm sorry duncan but I agree with afridi. The saffers are head and shoulders above everyone at the moment.
The way they manage to get themselves out of tight situations eg Australia test last year & India test last week, it shows how good they are.
You forgot to mention Kallis(retired now), duminy, morkel and the opening batsman Pieterson. They are covered allover the pitch.
Australia is definitely improving and will give saffers a tough time.
Kash, Harris is a good line and length bowler, hardly "class", just good. No doubt, he'll pick up a few wickets but how you can say the Aussies have a better bowling attack than Saffers is beyond me.
A14 - Steyn is the best bowler of this generation no doubt about it and Philander has had a dream start but after that you Morkal who I don't rate at all and there spinner department is hopelessly weak.
Aussies on the other hand have 4 seam bowlers who average under 30 in test cricket in Harris, Johnson, Siddle and Watson and Lyon is better than anything SA have to offer.
Johnson is the X factor but Harris is the one who troubles batsman all the time.
As for batting there is no comparison, SA batting is much better.
But Kash it's really not about you and whether you rate him or not. Morkel does the job for SA and that's all that matters.
Kash,
He's only played 21 tests, half those against England. He's good. Not less and not more.
Fash, Morkal very rarely troubles the top order batsman and is known to pick up wickets off tailenders to boost his stats. For someone who has been bought up in seamer friendly conditions and to have an average above 30 is not very good.
A14 I still reckon the bowling unit of the Aussies is better than SA. Let's see how the SA bowlers cope without the Kallis add on. Steyn is up there with the greats of the past.
We will see the reason why SA are world class. They always love this sort of challenges, and no matter how good a team you put they will always come up with a better performance.
It will be interesting to see how SA do without kallis. That will be the biggest challenge for them more than anything else.
